"oh ryugamine-senseiiiiii~!"
mikado rolled his eyes and attempted to swallow the irritated sigh that was building in his chest. masaomi kida, one of the most troublesome students in his class, was in the classroom during lunch again.
it wasn't forbidden for kids to eat in the classroom during lunch. it was just that they usually didn't. mikado was fairly well liked by his students because of his easy-to-understand lessons and willingness to help students after class if they needed it. but when he had to be he was harsh and it didn't help that there were rumors about him being involved with the Dollars (the principal cleared them up but the students sure did love gossip). so there were only a few that usually stayed in the classroom for lunch rather than the cafeteria and even then it wasn't a routine thing. but for masaomi kida it was.
every single day he would perch himself right on mikado's desk, whip out his lunch, then start chattering as he ate and tried to feed mikado or find any excuse to get closer and touch him. mikado tried very, very hard to draw a clear line, but kida just….completely ignored it. he acted like he didn't even notice how uncomfortable some of the things he did and said made mikado. either that or he just didn't care.
and today like always there he was, all grins and shimmering eyes.
"hmm?" mikado replied, not even bothering to look up from the papers he was grading. "and like i always tell you get off my desk and sit at your own."
"awww, don't be such a prude!"
"masaomi-kun, i'm serious," mikado said in a voice that betrayed his words. he had given up at this point but hell, there was still some fight left in him. "this is highly—"
suddenly kida was on his hands and knees and leaned uncomfortably close to mikado, their noses so close that they would touch if either of them moved, and his breath fanned across mikado's lips when he breathed.
"—inappropriate—" mikado choked out, shock evident on his features as well as embarrassment if the blush that reached his ears didn't make it obvious enough.
"what was that?" kida asked with a devilish grin. he tilted his head slightly, mockingly, as if he really didn't hear mikado's words.
"m-m-masomi-kun—" mikado managed to get out, his voice trembling with nerves and embarrassment. "get off of my desk right this instant!"
kida didn't move, though he did turn his head slightly so that their gazes connected. mikado knew that if he really wanted to he could push kida away or just stand up and he'd be out of this situation. but something made him stay frozen in place, eyes on mikado's shimmering golden gaze, lips parted as they tasted kida's breath and listened to his soft breathing. he could smell kida's cologne and he swore he got a whiff of his shampoo.
mikado wavered, leaning forward ever so slightly, to catch a better whiff—
"okie dokie then!"
mikado jolted back, cheeks red as kida leaned back and jumped off his desk, all smug and smiles. he grabbed his unfinished lunch and sent mikado a big grin, winking as if to say he was completely aware that mikado was about to break.
"sorry bout that teach, won't happen again."
mikado tried to calm his rapidly beating heart. that was close. so, so, so close.
"hey, ryugamine-sensei, want some of my rice?"
