A/N: Hello guys, this is my first multi chapter fanfiction. I really hope you guys like it, I made the story line different than usual, I apologize if the first chapter is somehow boring but I have big planes. I hope you enjoy this.

Lily

It was late afternoon when Lily Evans drove to her new home; her window rolled down, enjoying the cold breeze hitting her warm face. The sun was beginning to set, and the colours in the sky were tinting towards pink and purple. The birds were calling out as if to being their slumber. The air had the smell of wet grass from the all the rain, she breathed it in greedily, it was her favorite.

She had just finished packing the last box from her old apartment. It was a good apartment but it was too cramped up, and small. It was the one she had bought when she first started out as an attending; she had worked extra shifts to be able to afford it. And she did.

However, after becoming increasingly successful as a heart surgeon, and is currently one of the leading cardiothoracic surgeons in the country, that she has decided to get a bigger place for herself.

Lily loved her life, she did. At least that is what she has been convincing herself for the past decade. Although Lily loved being a surgeon, she had always wanted to be an Auror. However, her dreams were shattered long ago. Dreams of being a part of anything left her heartbroken for almost 16 years now.

Bauxbatons was a good wizarding school; she had friends there that she loved dearly. However, after the growing power of he-who-must-not-be-named it was as if everyone turned their backs on her. She did not mind them, what killed her was him. She expected him to be the only one there to pull her up when everyone had pushed her down. She thought he would be forever her friend, her savior, her confidant, her love. She shook her head, as if she could physically shake out the thoughts of Severus from her mind.

Nevertheless, she decided that after finishing her seventh year, she would leave the wizarding world to live with her family. It was during her N.E.W.T's when she received news that her family had been attacked by death eaters and only her sister, Petunia, had survived because she was out with her fiancé.

Her sister made sure she never forgot that Lily was the reason her parents her died. That it was her fault she was born different, a freak witch.

The wizarding world was never safe to her again, she thought she could start over, start as a med student. As easy as that sounds, it was impossible to not do magic. It was, after all, a part of her. Yet, she made it. She became a surgeon, and a darn good one.

She turned into the street of her home, which was literally deserted if not for the one other house next to hers. She pulled into her new driveway, she got out and got her box from the trunk and stood to take one good look at the exterior of what was to become her new home.

It had a modern Victorian look. The white wood and dark rooftop. (Here) She was proud of herself for getting such a beautiful house. On the other hand, it was terribly large and empty. It looked like the perfect house for a family, but here she was alone. No family and no one to share this with, she could only hope her friends could fill the emptiness.

She took a deep breath and said to her-self "This is your life now Lily, learn to love it." Then walked up her front porch into the unfamiliar scent of polished hardwood floors. She walked over to the dining room, and placed the box on the table then proceeded to take of the heavy layers she wore to shield herself from the harsh, cold wind of November.

Her home consisted of three floors. The first floor was a big open area with the dining room, kitchen, and living room open to each other. It also had a small closet, and guest bathroom.

The second floor had two bedrooms, a master suit, and a small area, which she had conveniently placed the washing machine and drier in. The third floor was more of an attic, but it was very large and Lily pondered placing some art supplies, or start learning pottery.

She spent her night cleaning and unpacking, at midnight collapsed on her king sized bed after a long bath.
