In a western-styled room somewhere, three witches can be seen sitting down around a chessboard. Two of them are joking around noisily, but the other one stayed silent, her gaze empty. And besides her, there was one more person, but he was a normal human –if you stretch the definition of normal by a bit- Ushiromiya Battler.

Then, in the corner of the same room, a detective's standing in silence, her face covered in darkness. She's Erika Furudo, one of Lady Bernkastel's piece. Or to be more accurate, she was one of Lady Bernkastel's piece. Because of her recent blunders and failures, she's dismissed as a piece. It's impossible to guess how she felt, since she's reduced to a mere doll in the purest sense.

One of the witches, this one blonde in a pink frilly outfit, is showing her newest favorite novel to the witch who sat in front of her.

"…and then, in New Moon, the Cullens and Jacob's tribe formed a temporary alliance to defeat Victoria! It was really cool, Bern! Maybe we should turn everyone on the gameboard into vampires and werewolves!"

The one she was talking to, a really young looking girl in a dark dress matching her black hair, merely smirked at her fellow witch's excitation, before answered, "And then, how did it end? You said that there are four books, right?"

Lambdadelta frowned a bit, "Eeh…I haven't started reading it! I was really busy, you know! Unlike you Bern, I actually helped people who pray to me!"

Bern shrugged the comment pointed at her, but before she could reply, the Battle interrupted their pleasant chat.

"Enough with your silly nonsense! Why don't we just start the new game already?"

Immediately, Bern and Lambda laughed in their usual creepy way.

"Bern, Bern! Did you hear that? It seems that Battler has admitted that we have the gameboard now!"

"That's not it! You know that Beatrice's in no shape to start the game yet, so you better do it for now! Or I'll rip your tongue right from your mouth so you'll stop chatting around uselessly!" Battler replied, enraged. Beatrice, the third witch in that room, was clearly in a vegetative state, and it's impossible to tell whether she realized what was happening around her.

"Heh, you can't wait to see your families and friends murdered again, don't you?" Bernkastel replied, "But fair enough. Let's make this an even more interesting game."

"Ooh! What do you have in mind, Bern? Tell me! Tell me!" Lambdadelta leaned over the chessboard to lend her ear to Bern. The shorter witch gave in and whispered her plan to Lambdadelta. Everyone could easily see Lambdadelta's expression becoming even more excited.

"That's enough isn't it! I don't know what you witches are planning, but I won't surrender! For Beato's sake…and Ange's too! Now, bring it on!"

Lambdadelta and Bernkaster exchanged a quick nod to each other before turned their attention to Battler and said together, in perfect preciseness.

"As you wish!"
