A Mother's Loss

Disclaimer: As always, I own nothing but what you see here. This was pretty much inspired by the fact nobody's done something like this cause most of you are too damn busy having your heads stuck up the ass of Olicity. Unless someone has done something like this then please, point me to it and I'll read it quick like.

When Quentin informed me of the news, to say I was shocked would be an understatement. Shock followed by disbelief and full on denial. As no way could my babygirl be dead! It surely had to be some sort of lie and even if she was truly dead, she would somehow make her return much like my baby Sara has done on two separate occasions! This Damien Darhk man has so much to answer for and I know that Quentin will make that happen!

Even if he was currently on suspension, the woman knew that when he had his mind set on something, he would do anything he could without going outside of the law to pull it off. Dinah tried to convince her ex husband that Laurel could come back to them as they walked to the funeral hand in hand, his clasping her's so tightly as he walked stiffly alongside her, lost in his grief. "She's never comin' back."

Dinah couldn't believe that, she just couldn't. If Sara could come back twice, then so could Laurel damn it! She also could hardly believe the fact that her own damned kidnapper was here for the funeral! But she would not make a scene right now, not here when it would be so inappropriate to Laurel. There is clearly more to things then even I know about… Quentin knows this woman kidnapped me and yet she walks free… I think I need to speak with him. To understand if possible.

Her attention was then suddenly grabbed when the priest spoke aloud that Oliver Queen would like to say a few words. This stunned her quite a bit as she never would have imagined Quentin allowing for it to happen. Making for her previous thought about understanding things come to the fore front of her brain once more. She listened as he began to talk about her babygirl and part of her wondered why Sara wasn't there when she should be. Quentin beside her sobbing harder and harder as Oliver went on with his words. "Laurel Lance was the Black Canary."

What!? I… I couldn't have heard that right! It just seemed so unfathomable to the woman and the fact that Quentin himself didn't appear shocked or even angry told her that it was true as he himself had known!

But if he knew, why the Hell would he allow their daughter to do this!? Especially when it could get her killed! It made no sense for her and she would demand answers once this funeral was over with. For she had EVERY right to know about everything. Dinah listened on as more emotion filled Oliver's voice as he spoke of the recent events of Laurel's double life being be-smirched as it had been lately. Making her wonder if that Damien Darhk bastard had been behind the whole thing since if he was willing to kill her daughter, then he would certainly be willing to do this. She listened as Oliver finished his speech about how he knew Laurel would want them to go by her example to help save Star City. Dinah wasn't sure how she could do something like that but she would make some sort of attempt as it was the right thing to do to honor Laurel's memory.

Oh my babygirl… I love you! And as the priest began to speak his piece, the tears that had been wanting to come out of her finally broke free as the horrible truth finally sunk in for Dinah Lance, mother of Laurel and Sara Lance. The horrible truth being that her brave little girl was truly no longer with them in the world. Quentin's arm wrapping around her in that moment was a small comfort in the wake of this horrid realization.
