Just a random little drabble I felt like typing up. Forgive me if its kinda crappy, I've never written a KH fic so I didn't want to make this one a big deal.

Where is Reality? : Roxas&Axel

Roxas can't quite place this nostalgic feeling he gets standing here, all of Twilight Town stretched beneath him. Light from the ever-setting sun washes over his face and a cloud of sadness looms over. Nostalgia and familiarlity combining and creating a silent peace; it's partly the reason he enjoys sitting her so much with the gang. The other part he can't place. Like a forgotten memory or promise. Roxas presses his back to the stone and closes his heavy eyes.

He doesn't know how much time goes by, but it does. Hours, minutes maybe, he doesn't know. When he opens his eyes, he's in a dream. Floating between light and dark, only barely aware of what's around him. Voices, voices in the darkness. They sound so familiar and surreal. Roxas can't make out what the voices say, but one stood out. Those same feelings of sadness, remembrance, comfort bombard him again and he forces his mind to focus. That voice, it sounded so desperate. Who is this? Who is calling my name?

"Roxas."

I'm here, I'm right here. Roxas stretches out his hand, reaching forward into the flashing colors of the limbo. Just take my hand, I'll guide you.

"Roxas, where are you?"

He contracts his thoat, feeling it tighten. He can't speak, can't call out, can't help this lost friend.

"Why did you leave? I miss you, I told you I would."

What? His conscious suddenly flickers in protest, wanting to waken. The world is darkening and his sight is blackening around the edges. He feels tired and worn, as if he's just run a marathon. He doesn't understand but he wants to so badly. Roxas holds back, opening his fingers and clawing at nothing. Take me back, tell me everything. What don't I remember?

"I'll find you."

This mystery person, their voice is calming. Roxas knows they won't break their promise. He lets his grasping arms fall limp, trusting his instinct to let go. Thank you. Roxas slips away, the weight of exhaustion pulling him down.

The Clock Tower dongs loudly in his ear, sending Roxas straight back to reality. But is this reality? That dream had felt so real. The frustration of the dream is gone, replaced by gnawing emptiness.

I want to remember him, I need to.

Axel.
