Harry's Shadow
-- The Minuet and The Serenade --
Prologue
Harry, Hermione, and Ron waited impatiently as the first years were sorted. It was fun the first six years, but they now had had enough. It was just one kid after another, after another, and after another. Ron buried his head in his hands. Hermione nudged his shoulder and he looked up. A boy, a tiny boy, was staring at the three of them.
"What's his problem?" Ron retorted, throwing a sour look back at the boy.
"Look at him!" Cho snorted, she was being ultra snobby this day. She still hated the fact that she was second to Alexandria, Harry's girlfriend. Alexandria was the prettiest person in Hogwarts. To top all that off, she was an elemental. She ruled the element of Spirit. She had powers beyond Dumbledore's belief.
The boy's eyes turned to girl sitting next to Harry. The girl went as pale as a sheet. A smile gradually fell on the boys face. "Hi Alexandria," the boy mouthed. The evil look on the boy's face never left.
"Walx, Derrick!" Professor McGonagall called out.
The boys' eyes fell off Alexandria and onto the hat. He stared at it. It appeared he was concentrating…Concentrating…
The hat was placed on the boy's head and the hat stuttered, "SLY-FFIDOR!"
The boy's evil look vanished from his face for a few moments as he heard the Sorting Hat change the his decision of House from Slytherin to Gryffindor. Relief washed over his face until he looked at Alexandria, who was glaring and clearly cursing quietly by the look of the students around her.
Derrick's evil look returned, stronger than before, as he took the Hat off. He walked swiftly to the Gryffindor table, his long black robes swishing on the floor. An evil glare toward the Slytherin table got the Slytherins wearing intimidated smiles, as well as all the other students in the Great Hall. Alexandria bit her lip as Derrick sat across from her.
"Long time no see, my dear sister," said Derrick. His voice was deathly quiet, but the silence in the room enabled all the students, if straining, to hear their conversation.
"Sister? Err.. Mr. Derrick, is it? I am not a sister to anyone.. everyone here knows I'm an only child.." Alexandria spoke hurriedly, glancing around, to let her eyes settle on Harry. "You can prove me true, right? I've told you repeatedly that I'm an only child." She paused. "You believe me, don't you Harry?" Alexandria was practically on her knees, begging. "Don't tell me you believe.. that.. that.. psycho!"
Harry's eyes bored into hers. "Well..you sort of look alike.." he muttered hesitantly.
At his words, Alexandria felt like storming out of the Great Hall. How could her own boyfriend not believe her? Well…It was a lie, but…
