First chapter is short, but the rest should be longer. I wrote this a million years ago and I'm bored so I fixed it up and here it is :)
Tegan POV
Sipping my iced green tea, I watch bright lights speed past me one after the other. I look up to the red man impatiently waiting for it turn into a green man. I sigh when it doesn't and turn my eyes down the street seeing if there's an opening. I should have known there wasn't with it being Friday night. I take a couple steps back and lean against a building, crossing one leg in front of the other. Two other people walk by stopping just in front of me, a man and a woman. I observe both of them. The man, wearing a suit, is on his phone. Head down staring at the small screen, damn, I hope he doesn't walk across the street that way, he could get killed. The woman looks more like I did just a minute ago. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, she's more impatient that I am. She's wearing a light blue flannel shirt and tight jeans that accentuate her curves perfectly. I catch myself staring and avertmy gaze somewhere else. Her body turns slightly and I get a view of her face. Her striking jaw and cheekbones catch my eye, and I see that she's quite good-looking, definitely my type. The light turns green and I push myself off the wall finally able toget home. The cars slow down and stop before the white lines, except for one.
Sara POV
"Are you sure you can lock up?" I ask my co-worker, stacking a bunch of papers and adding them to the pile next to me.
"Yeah, of course. You've been here since the morning, go home and relax," she replies from the main desk
"Alright thanks! Bye Emy, I'll see you tomorrow?" I roll the chair over and grab my bag from the corner, standing up.
"Yep, 8 AM, same as usual," we both sigh wanting to sleep in the following day.
I wave a goodbye, walking out the small bookstore and make my way to the zebra crossing, eager to get home. Working at the store doesn't exactly provide the best paycheck, but it pays the bills and at 22, I haven't quite settled down yet. There's 2 other people standing around but I ignore them, walking straight up to the curb. With one co-worker sick, and the boss on vacation, I've been working double shifts for the past few days and after tomorrow I will finally get my day off. I keep my eyes on the traffic light just waiting for the man to turn green. When it finally does, I take a step onto the road, walking briskly across. The faster I get to my apartment, the faster I can sleep. But before I reach the end, something grabs me, simultaneously lifting my body up. For a short moment I panic but that thought doesn't last a second as something bigger slams into me. And that's when I blacked out.
