Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach (which belongs to Tite Kubo).

Something that wouldn't get out of my head. My personal recommendation would be to listen to 'Samwise the Brave' from the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers soundtrack. Short, sweet, and to the point. Hope you like!

They Eloped

They ended up eloping.

Well, it wasn't really eloping since they never left Soul Society, but since they skipped out on their own wedding (the so called Wedding of the Century between the 3rd and 10th Division taichous) they both considered it eloping.

It wasn't planned at all either. But Karin was just so damn tired, and when Toshirou walked into his office after his lunch break to find his fiancée nearly pulling her own hair out with frustration because the wedding plans were not going well ("TOUSHIROU, THE CATERER, THE FLORIST, AND THE REVEREND CANCELED! WHAT THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO? THE WEDDING'S IN FOUR MONTHS!") he had snapped. Neither of them had really wanted a large wedding, like the one they were planning now which had over three hundred guests courtesy of Matsumoto, but Matsumoto had insisted and they both owed her. Considering she was the one who literally locked them in the closet until they said they would start dating and all.

But this was ridiculous.

Toushirou had put Karin over his shoulder and walked them both to the First Division, demanding that Yamamoto-soutaichou marry them that instant, right in front of his desk. The man had conceded, smiling softly as the two of them stood there with no witnesses. It was no secret that the soutaichou favored both of the young taichous after all.

Their own personal language was one of touches and meaningful glances that no one else beside them could decipher. Their relationship was not made for long talks at nights that went on for hours and hours, though they could do that and they have done that before. Their relationship was based upon and built upon mutual trust and the simple fact that they always knew where the other was and that they couldn't be in the same room unless they were touching each other. They stood for their actual, spontaneous wedding not at a respectable distance as they would have had to do for their extravagant wedding but just inches apart, their eyes never breaking.

Theirs was not a relationship built upon words.

And for that simple reason, when Yamamoto-soutaichou asked for vows, Toushirou smirked and Karin chuckled, asking him to skip the vows and marry them already.

When he had pronounced them man and wife, when they finally exchanged rings in the more Western tradition, Karin felt everything slip away. Because for the past five months she had been planning a wedding she didn't really want and now she was getting married in the way she actually wanted to.

"Hey, Toshirou." He hummed softly, breaking away, ignorant of his superior's chuckling. "We're married." Karin's grin was infectious.

Matsumoto was pissed when she found out.
