Disclaimer: I Do Not Own InuYasha

I

Watched you forever

In years so short to my kind

The Demon nature within me

That knows nothing of Desire or

Need

The Laughter and Contentment

Your reason for delivering such immaculate

Yet soothing gifts

I have yet

To

Know why

Your flowers belong

In an ancient meadow

Where all eyes have the ability to

See

The intriguing child

You were

And how each of

Their petals resemble

Your

Persona in such an adequate fashion

The softness of the touch

And the whither of time

That seems to touch the

Face

Of your kind in the

Almost exact same manner

Hidden messages that breathe life

Into such a vessel that only received

One

I have witnessed my Halfling brother and his

Family visit your ashes the same day

Every year and whisper their human prayers

I still have wonder as to why their serene faces seem to

Last

For eternity and hope that they

Will reach your resting spirit

I never join them for I have put you there in the frosted ground

When they speak of humans and

Time

In such a simplicity of words there is sense

Though such cannot apply to your rueful situation

Yours never came

Snatched from you by a demon as death slowly became your destiny

I

Should have insisted you stay in their human hands

Yet you should not have laughed so beautifully or chattered so constantly

You should not have believed so fiercely or looked to me with such trust

You should have never allowed yourself to

Love

One such as I

A demon whom is said to have stone for a heart

The Killing Perfection of The Western Lands

I hate humans such as yourself with a burning, hellish passion but

You

Attempted to warm my said heart

Though for centuries I doubted its existence myself

Melting the stone from it's cold, rigid state to something not quite so warm but not quite so

Still

And unfeeling

Such a miraculous woman that you grew to be

Ordinary and plain but retaining the smile

That I, of all beings, had come to hold special to a place in

My

Heart which has since grown quiet as if listening for your laughter

That will never come again

Just a little human girl

Just a ordinary woman smiling in a demon's heart

Rin

Such a Life you threw away

It is not necessary to ask why

You shall not answer any how

What a waste it was and futile in part for hope that you might realize your dreams of

Always and Forever

How foolish of you…

Xxx Unable, are the loved to die. For love is immortality. ~ Emily Dickinson

Death leaves heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~ Irish Headstone

In the night of death, hope sees a star, and listening love can hear the rustle of a wing. ~Robert Ingersoll xxX

A/N: I was deeply inspired by the quotes above. Yet that was only in part - I actually enjoyed being Sesshomaru for a while in this piece. I've been studying his character for as long as I can remember so I hope I did a decent job at mimicking his ever complicated thought process.

If you figure out his message to Rin… Good for you, I suppose. Free internet cookie. Oh, Lord, how overused is that? Hope you enjoyed!
