The wind was very edgy as they strolled the brick road of Paris. They went passed several pastry and bakery shops, taking in the aroma of sweetly baked bread and cinnamon bon buns. Both were now pressed up against the window of the bakery. Mouthwatering Saya couldn't take it anymore she walked into the store and purchased three raisin baked bread. Saya satisfied exited the bakery and met her younger brothers menacing stare. Not knowing what she did she continued walking the path
"Saya!" shouted Riku walking swiftly to her side, "You ought to watch what you eat! Seriously, one day it's all going to catch right up to you…"
"Hee hee relax Riku you are so overreacting. You know very well it will never catch up to me. The only damage my appetite will do is give me cramps!" teased Saya ruffling Riku's hair.
"Saya! Stop that! "screamed Riku pushing away from Saya. As the situation dissipated the two continued their walk to the apartment.
Saya opened the door and stepped in, stuffing her face with the last of the raisin bread. Riku stepped in after a while and noticed David's icy stare, a usual site but this time around it was more weary and suspecting. He shifted his eyes to Saya who was flicking crumbs off her face.
"Saya we didn't come here for you to snack endlessly. We are here for one purpose, Chiropterans."
"Yes I know but…."
"So stop fooling around and your appetite under control, this is business not a vacation." scolded David.
A slender woman came from one of the rooms and at next Riku, now sitting. She was cleaning her glasses; she looked as if she had something to say as her mouth slightly opened. But nothing came out. David eyeing her carried on with his scolding.
"We need you to pay more attention to your work than before you know that and yet you-"
"Give her a break she's just a girl David. Work is work I agree but you have to be able to have some fun." So quite being such a warrant officer and let it go." Intervened Julia was now putting her glasses back on. Riku always the visionary took the time to notice her model sculpted face.
"Julia….hmph fine this time I'll let it go but next time when work is work you work got it?" said David with a look of defeat in his eyes.
"Hee hee" Chuckled Luis at the nearby coffee table of course working and munching in munchies.
Several hours passed and David went to the porch to wait for Kai who apparently never came back.
Julia was in the bathroom just leaving as Saya entered. "Thanks Julia." said Saya.
"It's alright I just think David worries about you guys a lot so he gets all edgy and worked up about the small things."
"Ha ha yeah I guess so huh" said Saya. A couple more hours passed and Julia and Saya were lost in conversation. The subject of Kai not coming back on time arose and they started after David to ask to go look for him when Julia noticed Saya suddenly stop. "Saya?"
"Chiropteren" said Saya instinctively. Hagi noticing the change of events opened his cello and reached for Saya's Katana. Saya's outstretched hand finally met the Katana and she sprung inot action. In a matter of seconds she was on the back porch near David. Two figures were approaching one smelled like Kai and the ither Schiff. But that wasn't the smell that caught Saya, she couldn't smell it until it was nearby and it wasn't the Schiff's scent this time either. It was something else. But now her attention was toward Kai who had the Schiff atop his shoulders.
