Ice Cream

Hermione could hardly hide the smile that was quickly forming on her face. She had just given Ron, his first ever, muggle ice cream, and he was in a right mess. Unlike her, who had no ice cream down her shirt, dripping from her lips, or sticky fingers from the jam that had been squirted over the ice cream. But she had to admit, he looked rather cute.

'This-is-so-good' he said, taking a lick of the ice cream with each word.

'Yeah... I can't believe you've never had an ice cream before'

'Well we haven't really been too involved with this world you know...' He said quickly, it was as if he didn't want to talk to her, just eat the ice cream. Maybe I'll give him one of these the next time he starts an argument. She thought to herself happily.

'Ok calm down, nobody is going to take that off you'

'Well, they might, it's so nice!' Hermione shook her head and went back to eating hers. But about ten seconds afterwards, it was snatched away from her.

'Hey! That's my ice cream, you had yours!' She said as she went to go and grab it back off him, but he quickly turned away from her so she couldn't reach.

'Well, I'm hungry, and you're taking way to long to eat yours' before she could argue back, he had already finished it off. She huffed and sat back against the park bench. He sat back and smiled, then turned his head to face her. 'That was so nice'

'I wouldn't know I didn't get to finish mine' she said as she folded her arms and looked the other way.

'Oh come on 'Mione, you just weren't enjoying yours like I was' he went to grab her hand but she snatched it away, like he had earlier with her ice cream. 'Oh come on, Hermione, stop being childish!'

'I'm not being childish! I'm just- you have sticky fingers'

'Yeah right, can I borrow that napkin then?' she threw at him, and turned away from him one more time. 'Look if it annoyed you that much, I'll go and buy you another one' He got up and began to walk to the ice cream man, but stopped, then turned back and headed towards Hermione. 'Can I have some money please?'

'It doesn't matter Ronald, I'm not hungry anymore'

'Fine, I give up anyway'

'You could at least say you're sorry!'

'I'm sorry!'

'Well, it doesn't matter because I had to tell you to apologise' She got up and started to walk away.

'Hey! Where you going?' Ron got up and started walking after her. 'All this over a bloody ice cream' he mumbled. Then a thought suddenly struck him, and he ran over to the ice cream van, and quickly took an ice cream off the rack, whilst the driver of the ice cream vans back was turned. He then looked around, making sure nobody had seen him, and raced back to Hermione.

'Here, here's your ice cream' he said as he caught up with her.

'What- how did you- you know what, I don't want to know how you got that' she turned away from him and carried on walking.

'Hermione!' he caught up with her and grabbed her hand, then brought the ice cream to her mouth, but missed and got it on the tip of her nose. She looked up at him, and he instantly knew she was trying to hold back her laughter. Then they both broke out into peals of laughter, and the ice cream slid off the cornet and landed in between them. Hermione wiped the ice cream off of the tip of her nose, and licked it off her finger. She looked up at Ron and smiled up at him.

'Let's go home' she said as she grabbed his hand and walked along the crowded park pathway.

'Is there any ice cream at home?' Hermione rolled her eyes and carried on walking.

The End (:
