A/N: I know this is really short, but it is the first chapter and I just want to get it started. The reason for writing this story was because I've been reading KallenXSuzaku stories and, not that they're not great, I just never saw them as a couple. I thought Lelouch and Kallen were absolutely perfect for each other. So, here is my LelouchXKallen story. Enjoy!

Kallen picked the lotus flower off the ground and sighed. She had come to this aerie resort for peace but the silence allowed her thoughts to intrude. She looked up the mountain and sighed again. There was absolutely no way she could stay another day here, let alone the four more weeks she had booked. With another sigh, Kallen started for the aerie to pack her things and check out.

"No! There was nothing wrong with the accommodations. I just need to get away from the silence," Kallen explained. She had been explaining all morning! This hostess was as tenacious as a bull dog.

The hostess looked at her like she was nuts and said, "Away from the silence? Most people come here to enjoy it."

"Yeah, well, I'm afraid that I don't like the peace and quiet. It gets on my nerves."

"Hm. Fine, I'll check you out but you'll get no refund from me."

"What?! I paid for six weeks! I've only been here two. Either you give me a refund or so help me..."

"I'd give her the refund, I were you. She can be quite mean." That familiar voice was right behind her, Kallen realized. She turned and caught her breath. There were differences, dyed blond hair replaced black and green contact lenses concealed everything but the mocking glint in his eyes. Lelouch. Bemused, Kallen lifted her hand to touch his cheek. His own hand came up and held her fingers in place. He smiled, "Kallen, how are you?"

"F-fine. What are y-"

"I'll be needing to check out too, Ms. Yesenia."

"Of course, Mr. Chevalier. If you'll just sign here?"

"Hm..." Lelouch leaned over the counter to sign and Kallen could see that his black hair hadn't been dyed, only covered with a wig. She wondered if anybody else had noticed and looked behind her to see a business woman staring curiously. Kallen shifted so that Lelouch was mostly hidden behind her body. Lelouch stood up straight, looked at Kallen curiously then placed a wad of cash in her hand and started pulling her away from the check-in/out counter.

"Wait! My luggage!" Kallen dug in her heals but Lelouch shook his head, "Already in my car. We're leaving."

Kallen relented and followed him out to a plain, tan, Toyota Corralla and didn't say anything until they had driven a few miles, "Lelouch?"

"Yes?"

"Want to explain to me how you're alive?"

"Hm. In good time. Just sit back and relax. We'll be at the airport in twenty minutes and then I'll explain everything on the plane."

Kallen stared at him for a few seconds then sighed and sat back. I'm wonder why I'm being so calm, Kallen thought to herself. Here she was with Lelouch, who was supposed to be dead, driving down the road. Kallen looked at Lelouch, then sat up, reached out and pulled the wig from his head. Lelouch shook his hair out but otherwise didn't react, although Kallen could see the smile that played around his lips. Satisfied, Kallen sat back and watched the sun shift the color of Lelouch's hair. The next instant, Kallen's eyelids drooped and she was asleep.
