Hi there folks. My name's Merlin, and I need to tell you something that may shock you.
Every story you've ever heard, whether it is historical fiction, fantasy, novel, movie or game plot, it all actually happened.
You see, whenever someone makes a choice, there's a "What If?" possibility left behind. This counts for any and every choice, that was ever made. Dramatic example; What if the Hitler hadn't decided to star the Holocaust? The world as we know it would be different in a significant way.
The world that we know, that is the Core World, and everything else spins off of that. Somewhere in history, there was a choice, or a series of choices, no matter how small or unlikely, that would lead to the events in a movie or book taking place. These Parallel Worlds are figments of people's imagination, but remember we are talking about an infinite number of choices and possibilities. Somehow along the way, anything we imagine could happen or have already occurred.
The key thing about the stories is that they are the only way many people can be told about what happened in another World. The true importance of that is that the Parallel Worlds we hear about are Core Worlds of their own at that point, with their own Parallels that we may never hear about.
How do I know this? Well, over the course of the infinite number of choices, some people discover how travel between other Worlds, between dimensions. Often they learn by accident, or by the help of a higher power (yes, in some worlds Gods do exist). But once they learn, they try to create more connections, linking more worlds together with their power. But there is a downside to this which I'll get to in a moment.
My friend Max and I stumbled on one of those travel methods once. It was a Demon Door of Albion, a stable portal between our Earth and Albion. We went through, and caused something to happen that only occurs when someone from another dimension arrives.
Because Albion's story had no mention of Max or I, our arrival instantly made a new Parallel World, one that was bound to our actions. Because we were the unknown factor, no one would be able to travel to the "What If?" Parallels that we created. This is because if you are picking your destination you can only choose a world you know about, so our choices literally limited the possibilities of the reality. So our decisions better be good ones.
I was told this by Theresa, a blind Seer who could see other Parallel Worlds. She knew there was a world that had followed the exact same path as hers, except that she could see in the other one. This let her see without her eyes in her own world. She discovered that Max and I were from another world, and recruited us to fight against a new enemy, the Order of the Beginning. They were out to make the world anew in their own image, using an army of Will users.
During the battle with the Order, I was sucked into an unstable portal, and I've found myself in several stories since then. But then, if you want to know about that, you better read the stories for yourself.
You know how I said only the well-known stories can be called Core Worlds? Well, you can still read about the Parallels too. On Earth, they're known as fanficitons. Because you can be sure that in a universe of infinite possibilities, anything you read here happened at least once, in one world or another.
