Chapter 1: Swordsmenship

A light breeze rustles the treetops of a peaceful village hidden in an immense forest that spanned for hundreds of miles. The breeze blew through the village passing by people walking about their day, past store fronts, and the Academy. Finally the breeze came to ruffle the hair of a young shinobi living in the village. This young shinobi had been sitting underneath the shade of a tall tree in his backyard. His name was Zanzo Rikuma and he was resting after his vigorous morning of training with his sensei and teammates. Zanzo was of medium height, short brown hair, muscular build; skinny, brown eyed, and a stern face. He had devoted countless hours to his training because to Zanzo training was all there was. Zanzo had always dreamed of becoming the greatest swordsmen of the entire ninja world and he would train hard until he accomplished that goal. Kenjutsu was the sword technique for shinobi and that was what Zanzo had become his training in since he was a small child. He first had trained his endurance intensely because of the harsh physical nature of Kenjutsu and he would need all the bodily strength he could muster to last any length of time battling someone with Kenjutsu. This technique was not simply swinging a sword around fancily, but was more of an art that required intense mental and physical training to perfect the moves associated with the sword.

Zanzo had in mind that he would not only need Taijutsu in combination with his Kenjutsu, but also ninjutsu to be the most versatile swordsmen that he could be. However at his level though, Zanzo was limited to learing one technique at a time because as a young nin you must take things slowly so as not to over step yourself and get yourself killed. So Zanzo would meticulously work through each technique with measured eagerness to master the technique and move on to the next one. That was what he had precisely been doing early this morning; practicing his taijutsu.
