Disclaimer: Toei's, not mine
Notes: I know, I know: I got a WIP and a fan essay AND exams, but I really needed to write something to keep from going insane. So, of course, this wound out being a dragged out piece of you-know-what over three days, since now I apparently also have a case of writer's block. Go fig. Vague allusions to Case 4, but people who haven't seen the episode can read this.

"Don't leave me!"
For several horrible moments all Domon knew was the panic clutching at his heart. Then, slowly, he became aware of someone grabbing him from behind, as if trying to physically pull him back. Whoever it was must've known what needed to be done, since his head finally began to clear. He waited a little while longer (mostly to get his heart to stop pounding) before he glanced to see who was with him.
"... Sion?"
He didn't say anything; merely beaming at him in relief as he curled into him like he always did when they shared the couch at nights. Things were still fuzzy, but they were making more sense than they had a few minutes ago. He was here. He was safe. It really had just been a nightmare...
"Another one?" Sion made no effort to hide the concern in his voice. Most people would have gotten used to the thrashing and screaming by now (or done the sensible thing and find someone who wouldn't beat the crap out of them in their sleep), but even after all this time, Sion still acted like he could do something about it, even if that something was only worrying.
Domon pushed the guilt he felt at that as far back as he could, choosing instead to bury his face in the brown hair and inhaling deeply. The smell of cheap hair dye shouldn't have been comforting, but it was. "Afraid so. It's actually kind of funny; I used to go out like a light, but ever since we came here I... yeah." He'd told Sion as much about the nightmares as he could without breaking down completely, there was no reason to go into detail now. They were always the same anyways: family and friends snatched away one by one, until he was alone.
... Except for tonight. But he was already doing everything in his power to forget what he'd dreamt about tonight.
He felt Sion smile against his neck. "I hate to admit it, but I'm jealous in a way."
Domon blinked in surprise. "Seriously?"
He couldn't feel the smile anymore. "At least you have people to dream about losing."
"Sion, I dreamt about losing you."
"Oh."
Great, now he had to talk about it. "I don't remember too much. I was in this building and I was looking for you, and when I finally did... even though I knew you were already gone, I kept trying to get you to not... well, you know. You heard the last part."
Sion was quiet long enough for Domon to start wondering if maybe he should've kept his mouth shut, but then he felt the arms around him tighten their grip. "Thank you, I guess?"
He couldn't help but laugh at that as he closed his eyes. "And I guess you're welcome."
