In retrospect, Alyssa could've made a better first impression.

But she had just been so happy to meet Taylor. It meant she wasn't alone in her mission, that she had a teammate and maybe even a friend (something that was hard to come by for someone who'd moved to Turtle Cove just a month ago). When Princess Shayla formally introduced them, she'd smiled and waved hello.

That had been a mistake. Alyssa knows this because Taylor had given her an especially cold look, told her point blank that they were fighting Orgs, not having a party, and then walked away.

Alyssa's not angry at her, though. Taylor's been doing this longer than she has; she's just putting the mission first like any good leader. And Alyssa is grateful to her, in a way.

It's been awhile since she's seriously practiced, but her father's lessons are starting to come back to her. Which is good, because thanks to Taylor, Alyssa is determined to show her she's every bit as dedicated to being a Ranger as she is.
