"What."

Quietly, Lyra twirled one of her brown pigtails along her slender index finger, nearly not believing what was leaking out of her own mouth. Her lips parted once more, brown eyes gazing down and avoiding his scrutiny.

Out of their four years of an awkward friendship, Silver critically studied the brunette's constant behaviors, and could not help but distinguish the fact that her words slipped out in hesitance, and the action she did with her index finger and her left pigtail. The redhead recognized this pose far too well: either she was hiding something, or she was nervous. His gut told him that it may actually be the former this time.

"Er… Well, see I, uh…" Lyra trailed off, yanking a bit at her hair.

Both sat, occupying one of the tables within the Pokémon Center of Cherrygrove City, one posing a scowl of annoyance, while the other stumbled with forming as much as a single sentence. Silver was quite frankly losing the thin line of patience Arceus allowed him to own as the seconds ticked by, still with no answer.

The brunette's mouth dried as she tried to collect her thoughts. There wasn't any way she could tell him correctly about her findings, yet alone about her interesting adventure the previous day. Grabbing the bottle of water she held in her yellow satchel, she took a generous drink, wiping the residue with the back of her palm, unsure of herself.

The drink of water actually made it worse.

"Spit it out," Silver hissed, foot purposely tapping along the tiled floor beneath them. It had the effect on her, as his foot tapping only succeeding in growing her anxious.

Another few minutes passed, and also that thin line of patience. Squaring his jaw, Silver dragged the chair back, standing as he scoffed in aggravation. There was something that she was not telling him, which had him flaring up in irritation, although he shouldn't care whatever the hell she kept secreted up. "Whatever, Lyra. Don't fucking tell me."

"Silver—"

"Thanks for once again, wasting my time with the likes of you." Stuffing his gloved hands into his long pockets, he found himself strolling towards the double-doors of the Pokémon Center, a bit vexed. I bet it's about that stupid childhood friend of hers.

Quickly whirling out of her chair, Lyra simply blurted out exactly what her thoughts managed to gather, afraid that she might not be able to tell him if he left. "I saw your father at this cave behind a waterfall!"

All thought process escaped him. Everything around him blurred. Dubiously, Silver craned his head over his shoulder, shock evident in his facial features as he gawped at the pigtailed brunette, frozen in his stance. "What… what did you just say…?"

"I saw him at Tohjo Falls… And I want you to go with me…"
