Prologue (New Version)

Bridget took a tentative bite from her banana. Memories from the previous day were eluding her. Ever since she got up that morning she was confused as to why it was Saturday instead of Friday, her last day of school before summer. She may have some memory issues, but nothing had ever happened to this degree. She took another bite when her Mom bustled into the room.

She watched as her mom raked her teeth across her lip before sitting down across from her at the dining table. Bridget had noticed her mom had been stressing out a lot due to work. She had also been on the phone more often. She took the last bite of her banana wondering just what this was about.

"I have some news you may not like." Her mom said.

She gulped. "What is it?"

"My job has been transferred. So, this summer we will be moving to Amity Park."

She blinked. "Moving?"

"Yes. I am sorry, Sweetheart. I know you have a lot of friends here but, I am sure you will make new ones in Amity." Azalea said.

Bridget dropped her banana peel in shock, although she could have sworn the thing had instead gone straight through her hand.

Just because, I am including the old version of the prologue. Read if you wish, even though it made me cringe when I reread it.

Prologue (Old Version)

Bridget was a normal high school girl. She had long dark brown almost black hair that draped down into ringlets and warm brown eyes that could easily be intimidating if she wanted. She had a small group of friends that she obsessed over multiple fandoms with. The other students at her school paid them no mind and in turn, so did they. On many occasions or should she say on most occasions she wanted a different life. She wanted a life like in one of her favorite books or tv shows, but she never actually expected it to happen.

She did not know how it had happened all she knew was that there was an entire day gone from her memory. Because the last thing he remembered when she woke up was that it was finally summer break after a weird resolution day at school on Monday where anything they had to gather or finish was done. When she looked at her tablet that morning it said that it was Wednesday! She was puzzled. No matter how hard she tried she could not remember the events of Tuesday. Her mom acted as if there was nothing wrong when she exited her room for breakfast. She then waved it off since she did have a spotty memory in general though not to that extent.

It was a week into summer break and she was casually eating a banana when her mom broke the news to her. They would be moving in the next month so they would be settled by the time school started again. The town they would be moving to, she was informed of, was called Amity Park. Just great. Not only was she moving from her home but away from her friends as well. She did not like it, but for some reason had a feeling that it was supposed to happen especially considering the events of the month leading up to the move.
