It was the one thing she understood about Cole.She'd catch glimpses of him inbetween tree jumping, taking a break from… whatever it was someone raised in the jungle did, staring at it. It was old, faded, and more than a little dirty. It was also the only thing that made him smile in that way— quiet, thoughtful, and much lonelier than Cole's usual painfully cheerful expression.
The others tended to leave him alone when he was looking at his one photograph of his parents, as if they didn't to bring up something this personal.
Taylor knew better. Experience had taught her that even if it was sad, memories of the people you cared about (even if you didn't really remember them) weren't to be avoided or forgotten. The opposite, actually.
That was why she kept a picture of her family, too.
