A/N: Wow, I haven't been on F&E for a while, huh? But that's alright because now I'm back!! haha. Anyways, this story has been in the making for a while, so bear with me. It's kind of an awkward subject, seeing as I've never actually pitied anyone truthfully. But, that's alright. I think I got this down .

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry Potter, JKR does. And we all know deep down that we are jealous of her for being so amazing.

Pity

"Dad," Fred started, "What's wrong?" A ten year old Fred Weasley was staring down his father, George Weasley. He was sitting at the dining table, looking very forlorn. Fred furrowed his brow. "Dad! What's gotten into you?"

George looked at little Fred, and sighed, forcing a smile. "Nothing, son. I'm just thinking."

"Thinking?" Fred jumped onto a chair and looked at his father with questioning eyes. "About what?"

"About your uncle," George said.

"Uncle Ron?" Fred smiled. "He's so funny! Or are you talking about Uncle Percy? He's not so fun."

"No, Freddy," George sighed, "I'm talking about an uncle you never knew. Your uncle, Fred."

"Fred?" Fred threw up a goofy smile. "That's my name."

"I know," George smiled. "I named you after him. You see, he was my twin."

"Really? That's so cool! Where is he now?"

George's face grew stony. "He…he died in the Battle of Hogwarts."

Fred's face fell. "Oh. I'm sorry, Dad. Was he a good fighter?"

George's face lit up a bit. "Why, of course he was! He was just like your father; brilliant in all kinds of things…fighting, joking…making new things, you name it, mate, he was amazing at it all."

"Wow," Fred breathed. "I wanna be just like you both when I get older."

"I'm sure you will be just like Fred and I, Freddy," George said sadly.

Fred looked at his father. "You miss him a lot, huh, Dad?" George just nodded. Fred smiled and said, "That's alright, Dad. You're allowed. I miss a lot of people too sometimes. But hey, you'll see him again someday, won't you, Dad?"

George looked up at his son, and smiled sadly. "Yes, Fred. I will see him again. But for now, I'm gonna have to wait. Now, you should go and get your mother. I think her food is ready."

Fred ran off, thinking about the uncle he never knew.

A/N: So, that's it. I'm pretty sure that was satisfactory. It's better than nothing lol. Before you (or after you…O.o) leave the Merrinatorzone, you should go look and vote in that poll I have on my profile. It would help a lot, you know. But if you don't, that's cool too…I guess. It is up to you, my fellow Fanfic peeps.
