Summary: Named after her twin's curse, how was she ever supposed to amount to anything?
"Momiji it's time to go now!" yelled Kantarou as he stood at the park's entrance. The small boy of six looked up with a grin
"Papa!"
His father waved from where he stood, eyes cast however to the small girl identical in blonde hair and blue eyes next to her twin.
Turning towards his playmate who sat forlorn in the sandbox next to him, Momiji Sohma's smile flattered
"I'll come back tomorrow Usa-chan" the girl said nothing, opting to look at the half made sand castle between them. "I promise I will"
"If you promise, then okay" whispered the girl as she looked up with a small smile. Momiji's own grin broadening as he kissed her cheek quickly before running off to meet their father.
Watching her brother run towards the awaiting car, Usagi glanced hopefully at Kantarou, only to have him turn his gaze away quickly. Sighing as she did the same her attention once more turned back to the small plastic shovel on her lap, the bucket next to her only half filled with drying sand.
"Aya-nii should be here soon, so maybe I can show him our sand castle" she mumbled to herself, before a true smile curved upward.
Yes, that's what she would do.
With that thought in mind, the young girl got to work.
º Snazzy º no º break º
"Did you have fun today, Momiji?" asked Kantarou breaking the silence that had settled between the occupants in the car. Kantarou Sohma sat beside his son, Momiji and across from them was his assistant, Keiko who was busy tapping away on her lap top.
"Hai, Usa-chan and I built a sand castle all day!" chirped the little boy; his face was cheery and bright like most children his age. Though Kantarou knew that his son already suffered so much, and to smile was his only way of dealing with the pain.
"I'm glad, and how is your sister doing?"
"Fine, Usa-chan said that Ayame-san and his family have been very kind to her. She said Yuki-kun is always away with Akito-sama so Ayame-san gets lonely so she becomes his imooto-chan." Explained the boy seriously and Kantarou chuckled.
"I'm glad you're so well informed of your sister's life"
Nodding, caramel eyes gazed out the tinted windows. Besides gender, Momiji's eyes were really the only thing that told him apart from his sister. Something their father was grateful for.
"Papa, when can Usa-chan come home?" asked Momiji. His mood doing a 180 flop, as the slightly depressed bunny's shoulders sagged, hopeful eyes tore their gaze from the scenery to press upon him.
Wrapping a comforting arm around his son's shoulder, a familiar smile used normally for business clients fell into place. As the illusion was cast over his son, "Just till Mama gets better, Momiji then we can be a family together again"
Thrilled with the thought, Momiji joyous smile flooded the back seat compartment as he went back to window gazing; missing his father's broken look even in his reflection.
Looking up from the screen Keiko stayed silent, (especially by the look her boss was giving her) instead instructing the driver to head to the main house, her penetrating gaze lingering on the half Japanese, half German boy.
(Phase 01 // Complete))
If anyone knows Momiji's father's name (if it was even ever given) could they please tell moi? And his mother too… pleases and thank you!
