A.N.: When I first saw the label 'thyme' in my kitchen spices I pronounced it as th-I-m. Which as Coraline will point out that's the wrong way to say it. -.-' Thus form that this story was born.
Thyme
Coraline's POV
When I was young I hated Wybie, he talked way too much, and he really had nothing to say. As we grew up we became friends, eventually we grew to be inseparable. I helped him when he would fix hes bike and he would help me in my garden. I even remember the first plant he bought me, it was a small thyme plant. Thyme is an herb, you can eat it fresh of dried, you can eat the seeds , or ground it into powder to spice for other foods. Since then when I asked him about things about the future he always says 'Only thyme will tell.' I then correct him, thyme is pronounced 'time'. No matter how many times I hear him say that, it surprisingly hasn't gotten on my nerves. It's our joke, just ours and no one else's.
When we were 17 I asked him if he was ever going to get a girlfriend.
"Only thyme will tell."
""It's pronounced time, not thyme," we laughed. One month later he asked me out on our first real date. I said yes, we went out and became boyfriend and girlfriend. After dating a year I asked him if he would ever make love to me.
"Only thyme will tell."
"It's pronounced time, not thyme," after that it took him one week to be ready to go all they way with me. Two years later I asked him if we would ever get married.
"Only thyme will tell."
"It's pronounced time, not thyme," One day later he knelt down in front of me and proposed to me. We were married on the very day we met, all those years before. Today I asked him will we be together forever, it was then that he surprised me.
"Until thyme ends, and even after that."
I know one day when the thyme is right, I'll tell him I'm pregnant, but until then he'll just have to wait.
