21 Gun Legacy
Disclaimer-I I DO NOT OWN SUPERNATURAL
INSPIRED BY THE SONG One Hell Of An Amen- Brantley Gilbert.
Sam and Dean stood before the pyre, guns in hand, watching their father burn away to ash. His body wrapped in the white fabric, and on his chest was an American flag folded up tight. The boys silently cried, standing stiff and watching the fire lick up the pyre. As the wind swept the ashes away, the boys… no… men they were men now. The men raised their guns in unison. The blasts deafening in the silent night.
Twenty loud pops rang out through the clearing, the cool night going silent when it was over. Then, Dean stepped up to the side of the smoldering flames and the last shot rang out. Dean turned, meeting Sam's gaze and together the men marched away from their father's ashes. John Winchester, soldier of America, fighting for people's lives more than they would ever realize. He was just another forgotten soldier. But people should have remembered him. Should remember all those who fight for us. But the most important thing a person can leave behind is a legacy. And that legacy could span for centuries to come.
John Winchester left behind the greatest legacy the world would ever see. The vessels of Michael and Lucifer. Two brothers that would toe the edge and erase the line between black and white. Two brothers who would teach the world many valuable lessons… some good and some very bad. But in the end, the choice is ours on the lessons we learn and the legacies we leave behind.
