England, 1865.

"Good night, Alice." A whispering voice came from the other side of the door. It was a hot, summer day and the entire house could feel the warmth against their backs. Everyone wore light clothes, and all the windows were open. This voice came from a young woman named Mathilda, who had come to wish her little sister goodnight. As soon as this goodnight was said, Mathilda left to join her parents for an outing before they left on vacation for a month. While they were gone, Mathilda would be left alone to watch Alice. Alice was afraid, but at least it was summer, and she wouldn't have to worry about school. Alice collected her fear and eventually went to sleep.

This sleep was no ordinary sleep, as Alice soon found out. She seemed to be in her room, and she felt awake, but she had a sense that she was asleep. A fading sense, since it just took a few minutes for Alice to think she was completely awake. A bird flew through her window, trying to open her closet. Confused, Alice felt the sense to help the bird, so she opened up the closet for her. In place of the clothes, there was a hole, with swirls and stars and all sorts of things. This reminded Alice of a dream she had two months ago, where she visited a land that she called Wonderland. Alice got worried for a second, but that was just a dream! Alice hopped in, not questioning a thing.

Once she reached the bottom, Alice realized something. This WAS her Wonderland! Was the dream real? It couldn't be, but it must be! As she approached the first room, she saw a bottle that read "Drink Me." Knowing exactly what would happen, Alice drank it, and quickly shrank. The doorknob that greeted her on her first journey just opened up the door, no words. When Alice walked in, she was where she left off when woke up two months ago. The Queen of Hearts, the ruler of Wonderland, proclaimed "Off with her head!" repeatedly. Alice tried to force herself to wake up, but she just couldn't.

Another friend from Wonderland, the White Rabbit, picked up Alice an ran across the building, throwing her into a dark, graffiti- covered jail cell. "You'll be here until we figure out the date of your beheading," he informed her.

This wasn't a dream anymore.
