The silence was deafening.
An oxymoron, Katsuki was well aware.
But it didn't matter anyway.
The people around him watched quietly, but it didn't last long, before a lone applause sounded through the air. Soon, the entire crowd had joined in on the cheering and clapping. 'Ground Zero, Ground Zero!'
But it fell on deaf ears.
Katsuki Bakugo simply stared at his hands, covered with soot and fresh blood. The stench of burning flesh was permeating through the air, and it made him want to vomit. The people kept cheering though, as if he had done some great deed. Maybe that's how they saw it. Maybe that was the right way too see it. Maybe he was crazy.
But he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right.
Which was weird. He was a Pro Hero, he was just doing his job. There were people in danger, and he saved them. He did what he had to do. The bad guy was stopped, and the innocent civilians were safe, and out of harms way. Reporters suddenly surrounded him, asking him questions. He didn't answer. He simply brought his eyes, unfocused and cloudy, away from his hands, and walked away. The crowd grew quieter and quieter, as he moved forward, and they split, allowing him to pass. He didn't stop. No one said a word. All Katsuki could think of was that thug that he had stopped.
And how familiar that green hair was.
