So I was a bit of a swot in school. I was all about the meticulous notes and still remember when mechanical pencils started coming out with the button on the side. I remember thinking WHAT THE HELL IS THIS NONSENSE?

Break

"Remind me again," Sakura asked, gaze resting on the television screen across the room, "how this is supposed to help me study?"

The cushions shifted behind her as an an arm slid around her waist. The heavy warmth of his arm pulled her in until she was snug against his body before diving under the hem of her shirt. Sighing, Kakashi spread his hand on her stomach and fought off sleep. "This is called a break. Studies have shown that shorter periods of studying liberally interspersed with small breaks help retain more of what you learn when compared to marathon sessions of nothing but a hi-lighter, textbook, and notecards." He buried his face against the back of her neck and snuffled.

"Right," Sakura harrumphed quietly, though it was hard to stay annoyed at someone who was half asleep. Kakashi hadn't even bothered to point out the obvious. The stack of brightly coloured paper on the coffee table was proof of her method of studying. Definitions in green, reference pages and diagrams in yellow and blue, and definitely-do-not-forget paragraphs in pink.

Her notes couldn't get more awesome—and she hadn't even busted out her purple hi-lighter yet.

Kakashi's finger circling her navel brought her attention back to the task at...well, hand. She never could say no to that hand, Sakura thought. And besides, she had been ignoring him all week in favour of studying for the written part of the ANBU exam. This girl deserved a reward, however short.

Sakura thought for a moment then mentally shrugged. She smiled, settling in. "So this is a break, huh?"

"Yup."

"And you promise to let me up in fifteen?"

"Mm-hm." Kakashi was apparently down to inarticulate noises.

"Nnh," Sakura murmured softly; her eyes closed as she placed her hand over his. "You are such a bad influence on me."
