Awakening- Jack Frost

Falling slowly, so dark, so cold.
Mind numbing, air escapes my lungs.
Sinking almost endlessly when suddenly
I float up.

I hear soft cracking sounds
as I slowly lift upwards.
Air regained in my lungs
I gasp for breathe.

Eyes open in a panic
still floating, floating up.
And I see the brightest thing
It was the moon.

I saw it there watching me
It's so big, so bright!
The darkness I felt inside
faded away so fast.

I landed back down, sliding slightly on the ice.
I looked at myself and wondered why
Mind still numb, I can't remember...
I can't remember anything.

I didn't know who I was
just who I woke up to be.
A staff lay next to my foot
encased in ice with my touch.

Frozen icy images filled everything around me.
I find it fun and run, skating about.
As I wandered around, flying with the wind,
I found that town that showed the truth.

Something changed, something was wrong.
No one saw me, walking through me.
I learned later that I became a spirit
A belief, the embodiment of winter.

For years I was angry and lost
The moon never speaking again.
But now I have the guardians.
No longer am I alone or scared

I am snowballs and fun times.

'My name is Jack Frost.
How do I know?
The moon told me so.'
