"No...no, please...stop!" Dave mumbled as he tossed and turned in his bed. Suddenly, a flash of lightning struck the back of the meteor, which sent it flying. Dave woke up in tears. He wiped his tears away from him scarlet eyes and got up. He grabbed his cape and went down the hallway on his way to Karkat's room.
Meanwhile, karkat was sound asleep in his bed dreaming of Terezi. He woke up because Dave was pounding on his door like a maniac. "What the fuck?" He mumbled to himself, half asleep. He got out of bed and walked to the door. He opened the door and saw Dave's eyes watering. "S-strider...what the hell are you doing?"
"I...I had a bad dream..." Dave muttered quietly.
"Ugh, damnit strider...do you wanna sleep with me?" Karkat said suprised.
Dave nodded his head and walked into Karkat's room. "So, which side of the bed you want?" Karkat said rubbing his eyes.
"I don't... Really care." He said trying not to start crying again.
"Alright, you get the left..." Karkat said getting tired again.
They crawled into bed together and tried to go to sleep. Karkat was almost asleep again when Dave sniffled. Dave was crying again. His dream was haunting him like a ghost on Halloween. "Hey Dave.." Karkat said turning around to face Dave.
"I don't think I asked you but, why are you crying?" Karkat wondered.
"I-I had a nightmare and...I d-didn't want to wake up Dirk." He stuttered.
"Dave, you know you can tell me anything right...you damn fuckass..." He said smiling a little.
"I...y-you wouldn't understand..."
"Dave, I'm being serious. Please, I wanna help."
"O-okay but...you have to promise not to tell rose I was crying!"
"Promise."
"Okay...I... I dreamt about all the multiple timelines - dead timelines. And how many times I've d-died..." Dave could hardly construct a sentence without a tear rolling down his cheek.
"Dave..." Karkat murmured, "p-please don't cry." He said with a soothing voice.
"I-I'm not crying! 'Cool kids' don't cry!"
"Right...forgot," Karkat said rolling his eyes play fully.
