Embry walks quietly around the Woods, as quietly as a big wolf can. Nevertheless, the sound of his big paws breaking some leafs make him stop.

·······

The girl looks all around her, trying to find the place the sounds came from, maybe she could get another glimpse of the fauna of the area; she swore she had caught a glimpse of deep brown eyes a couple days ago.

·······

For the longest moment ever, Embry stays still, holding his breath behind the bushes, praying she would point her camera to the small birds again.

·······

After a while, she loses interest, it's getting too late and she has to go back to her aunt's house anyway.

·······

Embry follows her; breathing in her soft scent as the winds carries it towards him. He's mesmerized, until she closes the door of the house and he loses sight of her.

Then, it hurts. It hurts like only the distance of an imprint can hurt.

Yes, it took him eight years since his first transformation but she was finally here.

·······

She puts her camera on the bed and downloads today's pictures to her laptop. It's been a week since she arrived, although she has been unable to make friends, never have she felt alone, not in the woods.

That's why she returns every day.

·······

Her name is still a mystery.

Why? Because he is scared. Embry Call can fight vampires, yet the mere sight of the petite eighteen years old girl makes him feel frightened.

He is not ready; he doesn't know what to say.

"Hi, I'm a 24 years old shape-shifter; do you want to hook up?"

...

And so, the days pass by.

·······

After what seemed like weeks of small talk with every person that crossed her path, she finally made a friend.

An older girl that talks too much and so fast she can barely follow what she says. Anyway, she is happy that the company is more tangible now.

Still, the trips to the forest are just as frequent. How could she not go? If the gravity seems to shift every time she is in there? It's magical, that's for sure.

·······

He has memorized her favorite songs, blasting from her earbuds every time she goes out for a walk.

Can this be considerate stalking?

Embry is going insane and he knows it because that had to be the only reason he is listening non-stop to old pop rock songs that were cool before he was born.

Maybe the music could get him closer to his imprint.

Maybe he could find who she was among the lyrics of her playlist.

·······

She stands on the beach, and every now and then, takes a peek at her wristwatch, hoping she hasn't been stood up by her new friend, Kim, who said she could introduce her to 'the pack'.

She's on edge but she doesn't know why, it's a feeling way beyond being nervous.

Near her feet, a football strikes the sand, she takes it and it's about to look for the owner when something stops her in her tracks.

The feeling comes back, the same one from the woods and her lips can't move: his eyes are the same but this cannot be.

·······

Embry is flowing in the air, but she keeps him tighten to the ground. Her soft hands grasping the ball he now wishes he was, and his mind screaming 'Touch me, please. TOUCH. ME'.

He stands awkwardly in front of her, staring straight at her eyes and looking like a total dork.

·······

Kim's voice breaks the silence, but the connection remains; he is mesmerized by the way her hair blows softly in the wind and her scent mixes just perfectly with the salt of the sea.

"Embry, this is the girl I was telling you about, isn't she lovely?"

His deep brown eyes never leave hers, but he can clearly see the warm smile that forms on her face as he offers his hand for her to shake.

'Nice to finally meet you.'

A/N: I have been a terrible TERRIBLE author~ This was actually going to be longer, it even had an ending but... naah, let's keep it simple, shall we?

Wrote this to fight the massive author block. Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone :)
