AN: Inspired by Nathaniel November, I decided to write at least ONE story dedicated to each and every single character in Marinette's class, especially those without the love they deserve like Ivan. As such, welcome to this little drabble.
Ivan stuck his tongue out in concentration as he carefully folded the sheet of paper. With a gentleness that belied the size of his hands, he folded the paper once more in an entirely different direction. Taking a look at the instructions on his smartphone once more, he folded the paper again and again, a feeling of confidence rising in him as he concentrated on the task at hand.
Finishing with a flourish, he put down the item he had been working on. Sitting on his desk was a perfectly formed five petal origami flower. He sat back and smiled. A few weeks ago, he would never have even considered that he was capable of making something so pretty, so delicate, so unbelieveably fragile with his own two hands.
"That's amazing Ivan!" a cheerful, high pitched voice said and Ivan jumped back in surprise holding his chest. Looking at his flower with wide-eyed admiration and her hands clasped together was his classmate Rose. "You're really talented."
Ivan looked away, slightly embarrassed and put his hand on the back of his head.
"It's nothing really. I've only been doing it for a few weeks," he said, looking at his feet and Rose giggled.
"It took me over a year to make an origami flower that good. They all used to look like something from a horror film," she replied as she practically danced on the spot. "Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
"Thanks," he said as he gently picked the flower. "Do you think Mylene will like it?"
"Of course she'll love it," she said with a smile, her clasped hands held up at an angle. "It's a gesture from where it really matters, the very heart!"
Ivan smiled at her reassuring words and placed the flower on Mylene's desk and Rose cooed.
"Oh that's so sweet. So romantic. So cute!" she said and Ivan looked at her.
"What are you doing here Rose?" he asked and the petite blond blushed.
"You're not the only one taking advantage of lunch to leave something for someone you love," she said as she placed a single pink rose on Juleka's desk and Ivan raised an eyebrow. "Errr…Ivan, would you mind not saying anything? Please? She doesn't know, not yet."
He nodded and without a word, the two students sat down as the rest of their class entered the room.
