It all started one foggy evening. I was sitting on my couch, a couple of months after pretending to lose my memory. Now, I'm living with the lovely Carmelita Fox. Well, Carmelita Cooper now. She was always on the job, getting called in for robberies and what not. I hope she won't mind if I go back to stealing with my pals Bentley and Murray.

Carmelita, "Sly, I'm home."

I thought, 'That won't take long.'

I didn't say anything, though, because I couldn't be mean to her. We had dinner, and, of course, she got called in for a criminal found on the East Side. Why did that place sound so familiar? It was on the tip of my tongue. Then I remembered it. Bentley was on the East Side! Immediately I grabbed my backpack and raced out the door. I hopped in my convertible(Murray has the van) and sped off to Bentley's home. Sure enough, he was in the back of the cop car by the time I got there. I parked my car in the alley, and stuck to the shadows. I was glad I brought my old cane along. I used it to reach across and pull open Bentley's door. Bentley grabbed his wheelchair and we got out of there. I left my calling card, but Carmelita sure wasn't happy when she came home. She was fuming.

Carmelita, "Sly Cooper! You interfered in the cops business again! You- Wait a minute. You came to his rescue. You knew who he was! You lied about your memory, Cooper!"

Oh, so that's how she would react. I wondered if she would get a divorce. Ah, well, back to the drawing board for chasing Carmelita. I had nothing else to distract her with, so I kissed her. I left my calling card and ran. I left Bentley at Murray's, so thats where I headed.

Me, "Hey guys! Bentley, how's the time machine coming?"

Bentley, "Great, actually. You haven't visited us in years, why now?"

Me, "She knew it was me who freed you from the start."

Bentley, "You shouldn't have left your calling card from the start."

Me, "True."

Murray, "Also, who else could've freed Bentley without anyone else noticing?"

Me, "Touchè."

Murray, "So, ready to pull off your first heist since the Cooper Vault?"

Me, "Yeah, I'm ready for a little warm-up."

Murray, "Good. Because the last piece Bentley needs for his time machine was confiscated by the police."

Me, "Awesome. Another chance to explain things to Carmelita."

We suit up and head to the Police Station. I sneak in, while Bentley disables the security from the new and improved van. I pickpocket a few keys from the guards, unlock the safe, and find what Bentley was looking for. A stone disc. That's what Bentley was looking for? A big red and orange stone disc? Why? Ah, well. I grabbed it and turned around right into some guards.

Me, "Gentlemen, we don't want a fight, now do we?"

Guard 1, "No. That's why we have her."

The guards hold up a handcuffed Carmelita.

Me, "No! Let her go."

Then, green smoke slips through the air vents and I puts on my hazmat mask. I grab Carmelita and get out of there, to the waiting Bentley and Murray in the van. What a heist.

Bentley, "Why did you bring her here?"

Me, "I couldn't leave her there, they were holding her hostage."

Bentley, "Ah, well. We'll convince her that the cops hate her now."

Carmelita, "I know that. When I threw off my badge and was leaving to go and join my husband they grabbed me."

Me, "You want to join us?"

Carmelita, "No. I have no choice, though."

Me, "True."

All of a sudden, the time machine sends out a big explosion, and my world goes black.
