-1 It wasn't everyday, that Hinata was called to Tsunade-sama's office on mandatory terms. A jounin gave her the message. At first she did not think anything of it, she was regularly called in to help with patients . Mainly in her expertise in fixing and regulating patients chakras. Most people she worked with were not in their right state of mind, because either the jutsu that had placed them in the hospital in the first place was almost always some kind of genjustsu, causing enormous paranoia and many hallucinations. Or the person was completely comatose.
She liked the comatose patients much better.
Though as she got closer and closer to the hokage building, she became more and more stressed. Especially since Naruto had came back, and their was a chance he could have been involved with whatever she was doing. Though she loved and admired him so much, being around him made her look like the upmost star of idiot-dom. For this reason, it was hard for people to take her seriously when she was around him in any such way. She was hoping to conquer this problem, so far it had resulted in more and more failure.
Hinata had been so engrossed in her thoughts that she did not realize that she was walking down the hall towards the doors to the Hokage's personal office. A shot of adrenaline and anxiety shot into her chest, making her every breath give off a tickling sensation in her ribcage.
Opening the large wooden doors, she saw the back of someone she hadn't seen in awhile. She didn't realize who it was until she looked at his head, with that spikey ponytail the identity of the man came to her head like a lighting bolt.
'…Shikamaru-san?'
She hadn't talked to him in well, she couldn't recall how long. They were all so busy nowadays, she had heard good things about him though. The Hokage would constantly be bragging about her "Super lazy, yet genius chuunin". Not that it was surprising, she was big on bragging and making bets. Then to his left, was her pink haired peer, Haruno Sakura. Hinata would have called her a friend, but she found her demeanor a bit too bossy and overbearing at times. She was very reliable though, and Hinata had even gotten to train with her now and again. Her ability to manipulate chakra was astounding. In such a small time period it had taken her to become skilled…it only reinforced Hinata's determination to become a better Kunoichi. It also was a big blow to her already weak self-esteem. She wasn't jealous, more disappointed in herself.
Closing the door, she walked forward to Sakura's side. Tsunade gave her a small smile.
"I've called you three for a mission today."
"Oh really?" Shikamaru replied.
"Yes.." God, I can't stand him sometimes. He's so fucking sarcastic.
