'Ezio. Stop touching me.'

Ezio smirked at Malik's irritated words. The Dai had a very short temper. This was going to be fun.

He prodded Malik's back again lightly.

'I said stop it!'

prod

Malik whirled around and glared furiously into Ezio's deep brown eyes. 'Do that again and I will throw you into that river.'

'With one arm?' Ezio questioned.

Malik glared at him before walking on.

prod prod

Without turning back, Malik suddenly kicked Ezio hard in the stomach. The younger Assassin gasped in shock and pain, clutching his abdomen.

'I don't need two arms to reinforce words.'

Ezio was still not put off. He continued to lightly poke Malik's back.

To his disappointment, Malik did not respond.

Until they got to the Bureau.

Ezio took off all his weapons to rest on the pillows of the Bureau. When he woke, his equipment was gone.

He walked into the main room to find Malik bent over a book.

'Where are my weapons?' he asked.

'I don't know,' Malik replied with a knowing smile.

'Give me them back.'

'No.'

Ezio hissed in annoyance at the Dai. Slowly, he edged towards the counter, studying the map that Malik was bent over.

It looked like the rooftops of Jerusalem.

Quickly, he grabbed the map and looked at it. There were X's marked in seemingly random places.

'What's this?' he asked.

'Give that back,' Malik growled, trying to snatch it from him, which decidedly did not work.

'Make me.' Suddenly, Ezio dashed back into the main room and grabbed onto a ledge, trying to haul himself up so that he could get away.

He was not quick enough.

In seconds, Malik was upon him, and he was surprisingly strong as he dragged Ezio down. The Assassin shrieked in surprise as he landed on his back, slightly stunned.

Malik calmly took hold of the map, which was still firmly clenched between Ezio's teeth. 'Thank you.'

Ezio did not let go. He simply laid there, giving Malik no choice but to leave it or tear the map in two.

As soon as Malik's hand left the map, Ezio stood up quickly and made another attempt at climbing up.

And once again, Malik was faster.

When Ezio landed, he grabbed something silver out of his pocket and began tying Ezio's wrists down with it. It was sticky and uncomfortable.

'What the hell are you doing?' Ezio growled.

This was a mistake. As Ezio's teeth came apart to speak, Malik quickly grabbed the map and put it on the desk. Ezio tried to get up to follow him, but found that he was stuck to the floor.

Malik watched, amusement flickering in his gaze, as Ezio struggled.

His restraints were surprisingly strong. He was aware of Malik uttering a single word while he grappled.

'Novice.'

This did not please Ezio.

Altair was the novice, right?

Right?
