You Give Me Fever

Set during season four, Vaughn and Sydney are living together (and he has a drawer!)

Total fluff, baby.

Disclaimer: If I owned Alias, I would be getting paid for this!

The first thing Michael Vaughn heard when he opened the door to his and Sydney's house was nothing.

And this was when he became worried. Usually he would find her cooking in the kitchen, or typing furiously on her laptop,

but now there was nothing.

Dropping his briefcase haphazardly on the floor and throwing his jacket on top as well, he tried to stay calm and called for her.

"Syd? Sydney?" He called, making his way around the house and panicking when he couldn't find a note.

Weiss had told him an hour previously that he saw Sydney leave the office early while Vaughn was working with Marshall.

Vaughn contemplated if it had anything to do with their recent findings on Sloane, but something told

him something was wrong, and that was why he was home early.

Following the corridor to their bedroom and finding nothing, he turned on the bathroom light and nearly choked at the sight of his girlfriend sprawled out on the floor, out cold with a tiny puddle of blood pooling by her head.

"SYDNEY! Oh god. Oh god, Syd. Sydney! Please, Sydney!" He nearly flung himself at her, jumping back when she stirred and mumbled his name.

"Oh thank god. What happened?" He asked, placing her head in his lap and reaching for a washcloth off the bathroom shelf. Wetting it slightly, he combed through her dark hair in search of where the blood was coming from. He sighed in relief when he only found a bump with a small cut on it. He had learned over the years that head wounds sometimes look more serious than they actually are.

"Vaughn...hey. When did you get home?" She asked weakly, opening one eye and looking up at him.

Smiling in spire of the situation, he kissed her forehead and flinched when he found she was burning up.

"Syd! You have a fever. That's probably what caused you to pass out like that."

Opening her other eye and reaching for his hand, she whispered to him.

"Vaughn, I don't need technicality right now. I just don't feel well, and I need you. I need you to take care of me." She squeezed his hand reassuringly to let him know she wasn't upset.

"Oh Syd, he breathed, of course I will. I promise you I always will. Come here."

Careful not to bump her head, he wrapped his arms around her and gently placed her on to their bed, making her promise to stay put while he called the doctor.

Half-asleep, she protested. "No. No, Vaughn!"

At the urgency of her voice, he whipped around. "Syd! It's okay, sweetie. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."

He walked over to her, placing his hand under her chin.

"Promise me something?"

She opened one eye again and smiled slightly. "Depends."

"Don't ever scare me like that again."

She leaned forward, and he took her passionate kiss as a promise.

She was already feeling better.

A/N: I've been feeling really sick lately, so that story just formed out of what I want a guy to do for me someday haha. Hope y'all liked it, let me know!
