Scarlet by In This Moment

You, you're everything I want

And I, I'm everything you need

This night is cutting into me

You tie me down, you watch me bleed

And we risk everything tonight

Finally, deciding he couldn't take it anymore. Just staring at her with her staring back. Her expression filled with apprehension, she was looking at him expectantly. "You.. Uh, are you going to say something or should I just go back?" She managed to stammer out. Realising it was now or never, he put his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. He felt her draw a heavy breath, as if she was contemplating whether to run away or stay. Then, it was too much and he leaned in close and gently pressed his lips to hers.

He felt her stiffen beneath himself and thought for a second that he'd made the wrong move. But then he felt her kiss him back. They didn't think twice about kissing each other, they knew they would regret it later, but for then, it felt right. And neither of them could care whether what they did was wrong or right. All they cared about was that it felt good. Like, this was the one thing they had to do, there was this urgency. He felt he had to do this or he would explode, because his heart was beating wilder than ever.

I, I am the misery you crave

And you, you are my faithful enemy

This hunger seems to feed on me

A sacred sin, a dying breed

And we risk everything

She knew she should have pushed him away the second he put his arm around her, but somehow it felt like she was unable to move. Her mind was telling her to yell, to run away, it was telling her that this, wasn't right. And she might have listened to it and stopped him from going any farther than that, but it was her traitorous heart that made her want to kiss him back when she felt his mouth on hers. How could something feel so right when it was so wrong. They were supposed to loathe each other, right? They had done so. So why didn't she just tell him to stop? She couldn't understand. One thing she knew though, was that if she want along with him and kept doing what they were doing, everything would change. And yet, instead of stopping this happening, she took the risk. Stepping over the one drawn line that had held her back so long.
