Estonia was surprised to find Russia's front door unlock. Usually he had everything locked multiple times to keep Belarus out. It was probably best that the door was unlocked, seeing as Estonia no longer had a key and he doubted Russia would let him in.
Eduard let himself in the started his search. He checked Ivan's room, only to find it empty. Then he tried some of the bigger rooms. He found Russia alone on the floor in one of the living rooms. It was dim, lit only by a fire in the large fireplace. Ivan was crouched in front of that, facing away from Estonia. The blonde felt a bit guilty when he realized that this was the room in which he and his brothers had told the man that they were leaving earlier that day. He hadn't even moved.
Slowly, Estonia stepped into the room. Ivan didn't seem to notice, and Eduard thought if he wanted he could still turn back now. But instead he pushed on. He walked up and sat next to Russia.
"Ivan?" He said softly.
"Estonia? You came back?" Ivan looked at him hopefully. Now that he could see the man's face, Estonia saw that he had been crying, probably since they left.
"In a sense." Edaurd had been trying for a very long time to think of a way to put this, but he still didn't know for sure. He was usually good with words, but this was a lot harder than anything else. "I-I have a confession to make. I love you, Ivan. Even though everything, I know you're a good person and I want to be with you."
"So... Estonia wants to become one with Russia?" The older man smiled.
"No." Russia's face fell into confusion.
"That's the point I need to emphasize. My country, Estonia, is separate and free from your country, Russia, and we're not coming back. But I, Eduard Von Bock, cannot imagine life without you, Ivan Braginski. I- I need you. I don't want to be alone. Do you understand?"
"Da, I think so. Either way, I'm happy. I don't want to be alone either. So instead, we will be together, Eduard and Ivan."
