It was the middle of the night and a mild thunder storm had been raging around the sleeping crew of the Going Merry. Though as lighting flashed though the portholes a tousled black haired teen pulled his light blue blanket around him. Brows eyes screwed shut and Straw Hat propped lopsided on his head.

Luffy didn't understand why thunder storms had gotten to him so bad. He was seventeen now! Not a little kid. Rolling up into a tight ball as a particularly loud clap of thunder sounded waves rocking the ram headed ship.

The raven haired teenager rolled over in his hammock, wondering where Ace was now. The soft snores of his crew surrounded him as he lay there.

Lighting flashed casting a long shadow into a five year old Luffy's room. The young child whimpering softly as the thunder boomed loudly. He scrambled out of his covers and clambered into his brother's bed. Pulling the cover over him Luffy moved closer to his sleeping brother.

Ace turned his head to look at Luffy then blinked. "Something wrong Luffy?" the eight year old boy asked his younger sibling.

Luffy murmured something incoherent and let out a small squeak as the lighting flashed again clinging to Ace's arm like a lifeline.

The D brother smiled down at Luffy then sat up and pulling his younger brother into his lap. Rubbing his eye as he lifted the covers around them and placed around his brother. A yawn broke his mouth open and the five year old snuggled close to his older brother.

Ace ran his fingers through Luffy's hair as the storm's down pour of rain pummeled the roof. The to-be Fire Fist let his head slump onto his younger brother's shoulder whispering soft comforting words.

Cracking one of his brown orbs open Luffy looked out at the storm then sat up. Pulling his blanket around himself. Oh how he wished Ace was here…maybe he could get something to eat. Yeah, that'd work. and with this resolve the captain hopped out of his hammock and as quietly as he could crept toward the galley.
