The True Tale

From the beginning, Wormmon had known that he was weak. He was small and shy and didn't do very well standing up for himself. He had been bullied by the other digimon in school and was always looked down on, even after graduation. Wormmon was rather useless. No matter how hard he tried, he consistently failed.

That was okay though. This was his life, so he would accept that.

Sometimes Wormmon wondered if he had maybe committed some heinous crime in a past life, or perhaps taken more than he deserved? Maybe he didn't actually do anything, but allowed something terrible to happen, something he could have prevented? This pathetic life could be his punishment.

But again, that was okay, fair was fair, after all.

However, fairness did not stop Wormmon from wondering, "what if?" What if he didn't have to just accept this pitiful existence? What if he was strong and powerful? What if he didn't have to rely on a hero, search for a protector, what if the hero was him? What if he could be the knight in shining armor?

And then the opportunity to find out came in the form of Cherubimon, searching for just the right digimon to join his ranks. Cherubimon offered Wormmon the strength and power he needed to become someone worth something. And after a bit of indecision, Wormmon seized that hance.

He seized the chance to become strong where he had been weak. He seized the chance to protect himself where before he had been a victim. He seized the chance to become the hero he rethought he could be.

In the end, he seized that chance, and everything that Mercuremon needed to put his enemies in their place.
