Winter Twins
"Come on Benjamin! It won't break!"
"I don't know Jackson," Benjamin, or Ben, said meekly.
Jackson and Benjamin are twins, age 15, with brown hair and eyes. Jackson is the older and the braver of the two; ready for any adventure that came their way. Benjamin is the younger and the meeker of the twin; scared of the future but also smart to act fast for it. Together, the two were and unstoppable force, and together they always were. Never did one go without the other.
Currently, the two were at a newly frozen pond, Jackson wanting to skate while his brother was unsure of the surface.
"Please Benny! It'll be fun!" Jackson begged.
Ben sighed before following his brother onto the ice. "There, happy?" he asked; next to his brother.
"Al-crack!-ways."
Jack and Ben looked at each other. "Jackie?" Ben asked meekly.
Suddenly the ice gave way and Ben was under. "Ben!" Jack screamed and just as suddenly, he was in too.
They couldn't move, they couldn't breathe. Jack knew he couldn't save himself or his brother, he knew they were dying here. Something grasped his hand; Ben.
Ben held his brother's hand as they sank and they looked in each other's eyes. They were calm as their final breath came…
"NO!"
Jack Frost sat up with a gasp; gripping his heart and panting heavily; he looked around, still in the tree. Jack took deep breaths while going over the dream, the memories that came with that day. The day he hated most of all.
That day, they both died, but Jack wasn't dead long. Jack had become the winter spirit while his brother was dead, his body stuck on the bottom of the lake, and worst; he couldn't tell anyone to get his brother's body out, he had been invisible.
Jack fell back against the tree, tears running down his face and freezing as they fell off.
"Benjamin!" he cried, sobbing into his knees.
There was a hail storm that day.
