Parvati and Padma might have been twins, but they really were as different as they could be. Padma was the studious Ravenclaw while Parvati was the chatty Gryffindor. Padma was introverted and refined, preferring quiet nature and books while Parvati was flirtatious and loud, preferring fashion and dating.
During a Gryffindor-Ravenclaw Charms class, Parvati took notes, making sure to catch each important detail that Professor Flitwick said. His words of wisdom were so valuable and she didn't want to miss one bit of it.
While Professor Flitwick took a breath, Padma chanced a glance at the Gryffindor section of the room and was annoyed to see Parvati asleep. 'Really!? She's sleeping class. She has so much nerve.'
It annoyed Padma that Parvati that was so careless when it came to her education. Despite not being a Ravenclaw, Padma knew her twin wasn't stupid. She just didn't have the same drive Padma had inherited from their father. It caused endless fights between the girls. Padma wanted Parvati to try harder and Parvati just wanted to enjoy life.
Despite their differences though, they loved each other. Padma knew that when push came to shove, her sister would always have her back. When their father tried to arrange a marriage between Padma and some Indian boy she had never met, Parvati stood beside her and argued with their father about Padma's right to fall in love.
If Parvati was allowed to marry for love, Padma should be given the same rights. It didn't matter that Padma was the older twin. They had a brother, so she wasn't the heir and shouldn't have to follow the same guidelines an heir would have to.
Similarly, when their mother tried to get Parvati to agree to write for the Witch Weekly after graduation, Padma stood her ground when she went toe-to-toe with their mother. She knew Parvati dreamed of designing witches' fashions, and Padma wouldn't let their mother take Parvati's dream away.
Despite their many differences, they had one thing in common. Both felt drawn to the fairer sex. When Parvati and Lavender finally bonded, it was in a double ceremony with Hermione and Padma, who had fallen in love after the war.
The sisters said their vows to the ones who owned their hearts. For once, they were in total agreement. Neither could imagine bonding to their lovers without their twin sister present.
