"It'd be nice to do it again sometime."
"Do what?"
"The play."
"In fact I'm thinking of writing one myself," Lee tried to change the subject as he mentally cursed himself for bottling telling Lucy how he felt about her again.
"You've got to have a story first," Lucy said, disappointed that Lee hadn't meant that he wanted to kiss her again.
"Oh I've got a story," he paused, looking lustfully directly into her eyes, "it's about a boy, who likes a girl, but he can't have her."
"Why can he have her?" Lucy asked quietly, her heart beating hard in her chest as they looked into each others eyes and seemed to lean closer into each other.
"Because...the girl is..." he trailed off panicking.
"Go on," Lucy whispered almost without making a sound.
"Because she's too good for him, and her family wouldn't approve," he smiled sadly, and without noticing he'd stretched out his arm and began playing with the ends of her hair.
"Her family doesn't matter if she has feelings for him as well," Lucy spoke, looking deeper into his eyes.
"And does she have feelings for him?" Lee asked questioningly, making the story more obviously about them.
"Yes," Lucy whispered, "I think she does." She cautiously searched Lee's eyes for his response before he spoke again, but instead they found themselves leaning closer and closer into each other until their lips met. Their kiss was passionate, filled with the feelings that had been building up for the last few years. When they pulled away Lucy couldn't help but smile, she'd been waiting for something to happen between them for so long, and they'd come so close to it before.
Lee smiled too, he held her face in his hand, stroking her cheek with his thumb and letting his fingers roam through her soft blond hair. He leaned in to quickly kiss her once more before say, "so, Mr Faversham really did get the woman."
"So does that mean one kiss really can change everything?"
"No," Lee replied, much to Lucy's shock, before he continued, smiling, "it makes everything even better." He reached for Lucy's hand and began playing with it as he spoke. "Well done tonight, you were amazing, even though I messed up the end."
Lucy laughed, "thank you."
"Seriously though, you were really good. I saw a completely different side to you."
"Oh, I meant thank you for messing up the end," Lucy said flirtatiously as she moved closer to Lee.
Lee chuckled, he loved seeing this new side to Lucy too. "Well it certainly seemed to heat things up," he replied, before leaning in to kiss her again. Lee kept a hold of Lucy's hand, and her other one slipped around the back of his head, getting tangled up in his hair. Lee couldn't stopped thinking about how happy he was. Especially after having spent so long imagining sitting on this sofa holding Lucy in his arms and kissing her.
A while later Lucy was lying asleep on Lee's chest, as he ran his fingers through her hair. He though about carrying her to bed but he didn't want to disturb her, and eventually he fell asleep too.
