This is my third fanfic. Disclaimer: I don't own CDF or Violet Hill by Coldplay. If I did, I'd be a very happy Beast. Oh, and thanks timberwolf, for reviewing .

Was a long and dark December
From the rooftops I remember
There was snow
White snow
He closed his eyes, remembering what the whole Murlough escapade had been like.
Clearly I remember
From the windows they were watching
While we froze
Down below
He could still hear Alice Burgess yelling at him to surrender.
When the future's architectured
By a carnival of idiots on show
You'd better lie low
Evra being kidnapped.
If you love me
Won't you let me know?
Plotting with Mr. Crepsley.
Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog
Became God
Tricking Debbie and her family.
Priests clutched onto bibles
Hollowed out to fit their rifles
And the cross was held aloft
Rescuing Evra.
Bury me in honor
When I'm dead and hit the ground
A love back home unfolds
Mr. Crepsley killing Murlough.
If you love me
Won't you let me know?
I don't want to be a soldier
Who the captain of some sinking ship
Would stow, far below
He et his head rest on the reassuring coolness of the cave that they were sleeping in, now late in the afternoon. Wishing that cared. That Larten cared.
So if you love me
Why'd you let me go?
Then he remembered his trials. He'd never seen the relatively young vampire that worried, or that unbelievably honest.
I took my love down to Violet Hill
There we sat in snow
All that time she was silent still
He blinked and he remembered that horrible nightmare he'd had in the tunnels of Blood- the one where Mr. Crepsley died.
So if you love me
Won't you let me know?
He rose up to his full height- now much taller, thanks to the purge- and stretched, feeling a pair of eyes on him.
If you love me,
Won't you let me know?
"Not all is as bad as it seems, my prince. And not all must be lived alone." He glanced back and had to fight off a smile. Larten never had to learn of his memories, or of his fears. He only had to be there with him, and 'The Prince' was pleased.
