Arthur watches Merlin as he just stands there looking at the fighting in front of him. He shouts his name and is about to run over but he sees Merlin lift up his arm and watches as his facial expression change. He has had enough encounters the last 6 months to know that Merlin is about to cast an incantation.

He sees Merlin's lips moving and his eyes glowing bright yellow. He gasps a little, expecting to feel anger, maybe sadness that the person he loves and trusts didn't tell him, but instead he only feels happiness. He realises what Merlin has been keeping from him all this time. He is pulled from his thoughts as he sees the enemies starting to fall to the floor. After a minute there are screams of joy instead of pain as everyone believes they have defeated the bad guys. Arthur watches the villagers hugging each other.

"Thank you Sire, Thank you." A woman says to him as she runs past. He grins and looks back at Merlin who is staring at him intently.

Arthur smiles at Merlin. He can't help but chuckle as he sees the moment Merlin understands that Arthur still love him. When Merlin smiles back, Arthur feels his heart fill with love. It fades, though, as Merlin's does. He rushes forward as Merlin collapses to the floor.

Merlin wakes up slowly, his head is pounding. He can't help but think if this is heaven, then why does it hurt so much.? He closes his eyes as images of Arthur fills his mind. He hopes he's okay and not too upset.

He hears a noise from beside him, and turns his head to see Arthur in a chair, his head stuck at an uncomfortable angle where it is resting on his propped up arm. Merlin grins at the beautiful person.

Then it hits him. He's not dead.

"Yes!" He shouts. He heard Arthur grunt and move in the seat. He watches Arthur taking in the surrounding and then his eyes meet Merlin's.

"Merlin," Arthur whispers. "Merlin!"

Merlin is jumped on by Arthur and his hips are straddled. Merlin grins as Arthur places gentle reassuring kisses are on his face as if to tell himself he's still alive.

"Arthur," Merlin laughs "Arthur stop."

Merlin grins at the innocent look on Arthur's face as he pulls his face back.

"What happened?" Merlin asks.

Arthur places his forehead on Merlin's and Merlin sighs. "Your mother says you used up all your energy and that you could have killed yourself,"

Merlin sees the look of sadness in Arthur's eyes.

"Promise me you will never do anything as stupid as that again," Arthur says in a gentle but demanding tone.

"But…" Merlin starts.

"No!" Arthur shouts. Merlin can't help but jump. Merlin feels calmed as Arthur runs his hand across his cheek. "Promise me you will never do a spell that will endanger your life, please."

Merlin stays quiet, understanding the look on Arthur's face. I cant loose you.

"I promise," Merlin whispers.

Arthur nods and then kisses Merlin gently.

Merlin's mother stands in the doorway watching the pair. It is a relationship she has never seen before. It is hypnotic to watch. She can see the love radiating off their skins. How she hadn't noticed it before she didn't know, she had seen the bond between them, but not this. Relationships like this were banned and hated. She isn't so sure, but watching to the men kiss and touch each other, she instantly knows that those rules are wrong.

"Arthur," She says with a grin. She watches as Arthur falls off the bed in shock and Merlin goes bright red and starts to babble. She grins even more as Arthur tries to understand her expression as he stands up and blushes ferociously. "Don't wear him out." With that she walks out of the room and heads to the kitchen.

"Now, where is that flour?"
