It was a quiet night in the TARDIS. The Doctor was carefully tinkering in the console room while Rose slept. He concentrated fiercely, the console humming at him every so often. He was disturbed from his work by a high-pitched cry from Rose's room. He jumped and shot up, banging his head on the console. He groaned and disappeared out the room, the TARDIS showing him the door to Rose's room. He thanked her quietly and dashed instead, to find Rose squirming around in her bed, whimpering quietly. She appeared tangled in her blankets, thrashing around. He sat on the end of her and shook her gently. "Rose." She remained asleep and cried out again. "Rose!" He shook her again, causing her to wake up. She scrambled up and clung to him, shaking. "What's the matter?" He asked gently as she pressed her face into his dark leather jacket. "I-I had a nightmare." She sniffed, tear trails on her cheeks. Her golden hair was messy from her sleep and covered part of her face. He gently lifted her head and pulled her to his chest, rocking her gently. "Shh, it's okay." He held her carefully and brushed her hair from his face. "You're okay." She cuddled into him and looked up at him, rubbing her eyes. "Doctor, stay with me." She pleaded. He looked surprised. "Here?" "Please. I don't want to be alone..." "Alright." He held on to her and lay down on the bed, pulling her gently to lie next to him and pulling the covers over the two of them. Even in the dark of the room, Rose could make out the icy blue shine of his eyes. He pulled his jacket off so it wouldn't dig into her, leaving his jumper and shirt. She wrapped her arms around him and pressed her face into his chest, her hair fanning out across the pillow. He stroked her hair carefully and nuzzled her, watching as she eventually drifted off again, holding on to him. A small smile graced his lips as he studied her. His pink-and-yellow girl.
