I do not own these characters but I do own this particular story(plot).

Hope you enjoy!!

It has been four years since I lost the beautiful necklace. It has been four years since we went poor, I thought we were poor before but now I have more of an understanding. I took a lot for granted. Fresh bread, not working, good food, a couple nice dresses. But I realize I am the fool. Now me and my husband eat stale bread and I not only clean the house but clean other people's houses and any other jobs I can acquire. The good food? Yes well we eat small amounts of poor quality foods, but you learn to deal with hunger but first year was the worst. Those nice dresses, I had to use the fabric for more 'important' things and they all are ruined. As I scrub 's floor, I still dream of being rich and having warm fresh bread and lovely dresses but it's a feat I will never have these things. Me and my husband have to work because I insisted on borrowing a necklace that was worth more than all the money we had. When I finish the floor I start to start to do her laundry.

11 years later

It has been one year that I found out that the necklace was a fake. I spent 10 hard worked years paying off a debt that we wouldn't have had if I hadn't been selfish. Even though I know its selfish and shallow, everyday while I sit at the table eating stale bread I day dream about what life could be. Dining greatly, wearing elegant dresses and lounging all day. 'Oh and the party's!' those would be exquisite. But of course know this will never happen. I think I'll go over to Madame Forester's for tea. Even though there's some hard feelings I still adore her presence. Ever since she found out about the necklace she has been to kind.

As soon as I arrive I'm greeted "Why hello Madame Loisel! How are you?" I smile. "I am fine. How are you?" I ask. "Fine thank you" She replies. We sit down and I savor the taste of tea and the freshly baked cookies that she has prepared. "There's a wonderful party happening tonight…I was wondering if you'd like to go. It's women only?" Oh my! I have dreamed of this! But I have nothing to wear. "I would love to but…"I say. "You have nothing to wear" She finishes for me. "Don't worry honey I have all you need." By the end of my visit I have her dress, shoes, bracelet, earrings, and some lipstick.

"Hello" My husband greets me happily when I arrive home. "Hello" I reply. "What's that you have?" He asked. "Oh I just borrowed a few things from a friend. I'm going to a party this evening!" I say excitedly. "Honey…"He said reproachfully, but I held up my hand stopping him. I don't want to hear it. I head to our room to prepare. The next thing I know I spill my drink all over the dress and the lipstick breaks and when I scream my husband comes in and steps on the diamond bracelet. That's when I start to cry. How will I repay this debt?!

I wake up covered in sweat. That was the worst dream I have ever had. I'm never going over to Madame Forsteirs house! The irony! I'm never going to look at a diamond in my life

4 hours later

It's lunch time, and I know I promised myself not to look at another diamond but picturing myself wearing a huge diamond ring doesn't count right?

Hope you liked it. Please review and tell me what you think! This is a one-shot. J
