"Merlin hold him!" Guinevere urged as she tried to hold up the other side of a very drunken Prince Arthur.

"I am going to feed him less" Merlin huffed as he struggled to support him.

"Nearly there" Gwen had never seen Arthur so drunk...normally at such feasts he managed to keep some control, but tonight the ale seemed to flow a little too easily for Arthur.

Arthur's eyes opened and closed the blurry objects coming into view as he floated along the corridor...he turned his head to the side and looked at the Angel carrying him. She had the most beautiful brown eyes and four of them!... how perfect he smiled.

Guinevere continued dragging Arthur along, her arms ached and her nose offended by the stench of stale ale which seemed to be emanating from every perfect pore of his body! She turned her head to find that he was looking at her, his blue eyes sparkling and a bright smile fixed on his perfect face...Gwen had to laugh, he really did make an adorable drunk.

"Lets just leave him here" Merlin moaned as his arms felt like they were about to fall off.

Guinevere stole her eyes from Arthur "MERLIN...I am sure if you were not so generous with your pouring he would not be in such a condition!"

The tone of her voice made him walk faster, Gwen always had a way of making him feel bad. The truth was on the odd occasion he gave the prince a little bit more ale than necessary, it normally meant he would get to stay in bed at least another hour...but today it appeared he had been a little bit too desperate for those few extra minutes in bed!

Arthur eyes went in and out of focus "I know you?" he tried lifting his arm to point it at his perfect angel, but his arm was held tightly to his side.

"To the bed!" Gwen instructed as she kicked open his chamber door and they placed him on the bed.

Both Gwen and Merlin finally let out short strained breaths while Arthur swayed sitting on his bed, a goofy smile now permanently fixed on his face.

"Guineverrrrrrrrrrrrree" The prince raised his hand pointing at each one of her he could see...his angel was Guinevere.

Gwen turned to face him, ready to say something back when she saw him lean forward a little too much...the floor about to become his new home. Gwen caught him just in time, the weight of his toned body making her nearly lose balance.

"Merlinn" Merlin quickly grabbed the prince helping his now passed out form back on the bed.

Gwen tutted and sighed "You'd better get something from Gauis"

Merlin nodded and made his way out of the chambers in search of something to ease the morning hangover.

Gwen looked at the passed out Prince, his golden hair all over the place his crown barely resting on his head...he was truly a Prince Charming, she thought as the sound of snoring now filled the air. She carefully slid his boots off and placed them neatly at the foot of his bed.

She then carefully took his golden crown off and went to place it on the table...but she noticed smudges on it and automatically used a corner of her dress to polish it... until she could finally see her face reflected in the now perfect crown...she sighed "That's all I will ever be"...just a reflection in his crown, a shadow in the corridors... what more could a servant be to a prince?

Gwen sighed and placed the crown on his table...she took one last look at Arthur and blew out the candle by his bed and made her way to the door.

"I love you Guinevere" Arthur muttered in between his snores...he was dreaming, dreaming of a confession that could, that should never be uttered from his lips.

Gwen paused, her mouth hovering near the final candle illuminating the room "I know" her heart broke and the tears that now fell down her cheek turned the room to darkness.
