Dipper Pines knew when something was wrong with his sister, and as they were sitting in their room, Mabel almost in tears, it was very apparent that something was indeed wrong with her.
Dipper: "C'mon, Mabel. Tell me
what's wrong, please?"
Mabel : "Dip. I'm fine. Ok? Please stop asking me!" *lowers her head and pets Waddles*
Dipper: *patting Mabel on the back* "Alright, well, I'm here for you, but since nothing's wrong, I'm going to hang out with Wendy! She invited me to go to the roof for a pine-cone throwing contest!" *smiles lovingly at the thought of Wendy*
Mabel: "WELL ISNT THAT JUST NICE! Go be with Wendy..." *folds her arms and turns away from her brother*
Dipper : "Mabel... Please... Tell me what's wrong..."
Mabel : "Give me space! Just... Go be with Wendy" *sighs*
Dipper : "Okay... If that's what you want."
Mabel : "Yes. Go."
As Dipper leaves the room and shuts the door, Mabel sighs and starts petting Waddles behind his ears. She stands up and goes to her bedside table, where she pulls out a green bottle and removes the letter from inside of it, trying to read it, but instead tears up.
Mabel (quietly, to herself) : "It's been months since he's sent me a letter... Does he still think of me? Have I been forgotten? Does he have a new girl? One with 17 hearts like himself... Oh, Mabel, what were you thinking? Of course Mermando wouldn't keep in contact. Of course he's probably forgotten about me and moved on..." *mabel flops on her bed and starts crumpling up the paper, only to be interrupted by a knock at the door
Mabel : *sighs* "Who is it?"
Wendy (from outside the door) : "It's me. Dip thought you might need 'girl help' so he sent me to check on you. Mind opening up the door? I won't tell him whatever's bothering you."
Mabel throws the crumpled love letter from her beloved merman onto the ground and starts walking to the door, immediately after opening the door, she hugs Wendy and starts crying. Wendy tries to console her and walks her over to the bed and sits down.
Wendy: "C'mon Mabel. What's wrong... It's weird seeing you like this. I can always count on you to brighten my day. Who's gonna have random dance parties with me if you're like this?"
Mabel: "You wouldn't understand! No one would understand? Have you ever given your heart to a beautiful merman only to have him abandon you without telling you why?!"
Wendy: "No... But, I've been through broken hearts before, you heard my list of boyfriends!"
Mabel: "Yeah, but, you broke up with them! You were the 'dumper' not the 'dump-e'!"
Wendy: "Yeah, but I dumped then because they all did something to break my heart... Hey. Let's take the Mystery Cart down to the ice cream joint, and I'll pay for an extra large sundae for us to split while we discuss why guys are terrible and how you can get over it, learn from it, and be stronger because of it!"
Mabel: "Thanks Wendy... That's really sweet of you, but what about Dipper? He was really looking forward to that contest."
Wendy: "Dip won't mind. I'll tell him to take a rain check!"
