Hey! I'm new at this so bear with me haha. I'm guessing authors notes are just bold? I can continue this if anyone wants or has ideas.

The sunlight entered the beautifully furnished bedroom. Kat stretched her arms in the plush queen sized bed. Her head throbbed painfully as she pushed herself into a sitting position. Slowly she changed into jeans and a black shirt. Coughing, she made herself down the grand staircase in Hale's mansion. Reaching the kitchen she saw Hale pouring orange juice into a glass.

"Hey Sleeping Beauty, didn't think you would ever wake up," he said with a wink.

"Uh huh," Kat mumbled as she slid into a chair near the shiny countertop. Concern washed over the young billionaire's face as he took a sip from his glass.

"Kitty Kat, you don't look so good."

"Gee thanks," she replied.

Just then she doubled over in a fit of coughs. Her small hand clutched the edge of the counter for support. In two quick strides Hale reached Kat. He placed his hand gently on her forehead.

"Kat, you're burning up!" The pale girl turned her face away from Hale, refusing to meet his gaze.

"You're sick, go back to bed I'll be there in a second," Hale said.

"I'm not," A cough cut her off mid-sentence. "Sick, I feel fine." As to make her point she stood up. Before she knew it her legs became weak as she fell towards the floor. Two strong arms wrapped around her petite body before she collapsed.

"You were saying?" He said with a smirk.

Kat didn't have the strength to make a witty comeback. Instead she just rested her head against Hale's chest as he scooped her up bridal style and carried her up the stairs. Gently Hale placed her on the bed. Kat curled up pulling the soft blankets with her as Hale left the room. Kat's eyebrows scrunched in confusion as to why the overprotective boyfriend left her. She received her answer when she saw him return with a thermometer, a spoon, and a bottle of medicine. The weak but still stubborn girl sat up against the mahogany headboard and crossed her arms.

"No, Hale."

Glaring the best she could Hale simply ignored her and sat on the edge of the bed. He gave her a small smile. "Just let me take your temperature." Kat let out a small sigh as Hale placed the thermometer in her mouth. She groaned internally at her body for becoming sick. "101.2," Hale said as he shook his head. He went into the connected bathroom and ran a cloth under cold water. He brushed some stray black hair away from Kat's forehead then placed the cloth on her burning skin.

"Thanks," Kat said.

"Sorry what was that?" Hale asked with a grin on his face.

Kat glared, "You heard me."

Hale laughed as he grabbed the medicine. "Nooo!" Kat said while she grabbed the blankets to cover herself.

"C'mon Kitty Kat it will make you feel better."

"No it's nasty!" Kat exclaimed.

"You stole priceless paintings from the Henley and the Cleopatra but you won't take some medicine?" Hale asked partly laughing with disbelief.

"Re-stole," Kat corrected.

Hale smiled and shook his head as he sat next to Kat and pulled her onto his lap. He poured the medicine and lifted the spoon towards her mouth.

"Hale," she said giving him her best pleading face.

"Open," Hale said.

She sighed and reluctantly opened her mouth while Hale fed her the medicine. Kat's body shuddered as she forced the thick medicine down her throat.

"See that wasn't so bad was it?" Hale asked.

"Once I feel better I'm punching you," she replied.

Hale chuckled and shifted the sick girl into a more comfortable position. He stroked her hair and set his chin on top of her head. She rested her head on his toned chest. Maybe being sick wasn't all that bad she thought while she drifted off to sleep.
