Miles groaned, trying to ignore the loud screaming of his ringtone. He threw his pillow over his head before peeking out from under it, seeing that the person calling was none other than his blonde lover. It's 4 am... Miles glanced over at the clock before grabbing his phone. He knew Tristan wouldn't be up this late for something minor, in fact, Tristan usually fell asleep well before Miles.
"Ah... Hello?" Miles grumbled in his sleepy tone. He could hear muffled yelling in the background, but decided to keep quiet about it.
"Hey... Er... I'm sorry, did I wake you?" Tristan asked in a panicked tone. His breath was short and shallow, sounding like he was running from something.
"No, no... Don't worry about it." Miles yawned as quietly as possible. "I've been up for hours. What's wrong?"
"My parents are at it again, I haven't slept in days." Tristan admitted, his breathing slowing down a bit. It felt better, letting somebody know.
"I'm sorry, Tris. I had no idea..."
"It's fine, it's fine. Don't. It's not like it's your fault."
Miles finally spoke after an awkward pause. "Is there anything I can do?" He felt awful, after all, really, what could he do in the middle of the night? Sneak Tristan out of his house? His wasn't any better for that matter.
Tristan blushed at the other end, shifting around in his bed. He pulled the covers over his head before speaking again. "Could you sing to me?"
Miles chuckled at his boyfriend's request before pausing again, thinking of what song to sing.
"It's fine- You don't have to..." Tristan tried to mask the disappointment in his tone, taking Miles's silence as rejection.
"Have you got color in your cheeks?" Miles finally sang, making Tristan's grin pop right back. He never really heard Miles sing, but that boy had the voice of a god.
"Have you no idea that I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week?" Miles winked with that lyric... It was true after all.
As he sang on, the arguing voices of Tristan's parents were slipping away from him as he was being soothed by his boyfriend's voice. He hummed softly into the phone, snuggling up to his blanket, slowly drifting off to sleep.
Miles chuckled softly when he heard the movement stop, but he refused to hang up. Instead, he hummed the rest of the song to Tristan before drifting off himself.
