A/N I had this idea right before falling asleep - please let me know if you like the idea! I love the movie Shutter Island, so it must've given me some ideas.
Everyone goes crazy at some point.
Paul Briggs was in the asylum for being a sadistic murderer. His specialty was luring men into helping him with his car, and then bleeding them dry. After capturing
his prey, he would tie their hands together behind a chair. He would then make two slices into the flesh, and watch as the man withered in pain. Paul would keep the
charade up for week, even feeding the man by hand and treating them like a toddler in a high chair. He feed them to keep them alive for days on end. Then, once he
wanted a new toy, he would stab the current victim in the femoral artery and watch the blood pool on the concrete floor. He was caught by an FBI agent investigating
the disappearances.
Mike Warren was here because he had killed his brother's girlfriend when he thought she was the spawn of the devil. He had begun to suspect something was off with
her when his brother brought her home. She was too chipper, and too personable. Only the devil could create such a perfect being, he'd thought, one with luscious
rosy cheeks and lips full of pouty sin. It's not like Mike was a religious man, he was just terrified of being dragged to the depths of hell. So, he slit the girl's throat,
and saw the life pass through her eyes. She looked afraid. The devil would've looked pleased. He turned himself in to the local police department.
Paige Arkin was here because she was bipolar (an illness unbeknownst to doctors at the time) and had went into a rage and beat up numerous people. She was now
on suicide watch. She had not known what was wrong, one minute she was a happy girl, content with her suburban life, the next she was punching her school
teacher in the mouth, and then her classmate, Richie. Richie was a sexist and he had it coming; the teacher had never stood up for Paige when Richie harassed her.
But then she punched the man she'd had a crush on for two years twice- once in the jaw and one in the eye. He went blind in that eye. She felt guilty at first, and
then she went into a catatonic state.
Dale Jakes had been a small time bank robber, but hold-ups were not why he found himself in the loony bin. He'd shot some innocents while conducting a heist. He
felt no remorse for his actions, but still had a conscious. He knew there was time to be served; he had just gotten away with an insanity plea. Little does he know that
he was not going to escape much by coming here instead of jail.
Johnny Tuturro tried his best to escape the mafia life. The gang life dragged him in anyways, while also drawing in a girl he had just taken on a date. The mafia
followed their car away from the theatre and kidnapped them at gun point. One member hit Johnny over the head with a crow bar, leaving him with lasting brain
damage. No one knew what else to do with him after the accident, so he was brought to the institution.
Charlie DeMarco was the least likely candidate to be placed in the asylum. She was a cook, an award winning restaurant chef. She was framed for murder by a
jealous coworker. The murder was violent in nature: fingers had been removed, and the hands were sliced open using a fillet knife. The asylum was hell for anyone
who was not already slightly deranged. Can Charlie remain sane amongst the craziness that now surrounds her?
